Hi, I'm Lela! Lela Grace Winston. I'm fifteen...almost sixteen! and have have long brown hair that rests in bouncy curls on my shoulders. I don't usually wear makeup because my cheeks are always rosy from laughing and my brother says my eyelashes are long enough to poke someone's eye out, so no on the mascara thing. I always put on bright pink lipstick because when I give my brother a kiss on the cheek, he walks around with a big lipstick stain on his face...it's priceless! Well...till I get caught, anyways. Enough talking about me! I haven't even gotten out of bed yet! I live in an apartment near Buck's and it's five minute drive away from my brothers friends the Curtis bothers SodaPop, Darry, and PonyBoy. I have a little crush on Soda, we're like cotton candy and candy canes! Super sweet and full of energy. I love weird analogies. Anywho... I jumped out of bed and dressed in a floral dress, tights, and white ballet flats. I ain't no Soc! But I don't dress how a greaser girl would their outfits are very...revealing. I slide down the fire escape and start running to the Curtis house. I ran past a cherry red mustang when it started trailing me. I felt like a mouse with a snake on its trail and stiffened, but kept my cheery smile I left with on my face. "Hey, baby!" A Soc yelled. I turned to face them batting my eyes in confusion. "Your cuteeee." He slurred...yup drunk. "Thank you." I started laughing. "Listen," he said grabbing my hand, "I've seen you around and your always laughing...you give me one good reason as to why and I'll let you start on down the yellow brick road again." He bargained. I pondered the thought for a moment then decided on, "Because a day without laughter is a day wasted." And started skipping back towards the Curtis household. Knock knock-a-de knock knock...knock knock! I tapped on the front door. Darry opened it and as soon as he said "Hey, Lela." Soda came running up to me his eyes full of excitement. "Lela!" He yelled swinging me around. "SodaPop!" I yelled back and kissed his cheek. He smirked knowing why I had done that and wiped the lipstick off his cheek. "Ha-ha very funny!" He said chuckling. "It was, wasn't it." I said smiling in victory, my smile quickly dropped when I saw my brother passed out on the couch with a black eye. "Dally?!" I yelped and ran to his side brushing back his chocolate colored hair. "Hm..." He said and opened his eyes. I sat down next to him and held his face in my hands, "What happened, Dal?" I asked. "Got into a fight at Buck's last night." He replied coolly trying to act proud. I stormed into Soda's room and slammed the door, I wasn't very proud of my brother.  Not at all. I sat down on Soda's bed and thought about how my brother was always getting into trouble. Knock, knock, knock "It's your best friend." Soda said. "It's your room! Come in." I said laughing. "Your laugh is so contagious!" Soda said grinning. "Yeah so is yours!" I said hugging him. "What's wrong hunny?" He asked noticing how I was hugging him harder than usual. "Dallas...he's always getting into trouble!" I said crossing my arms and pouting. "Awe, Lela you look like a little kitten when you try to get mad." He said laughing. I playfully punched his shoulder, it's hard for me to really be mad.
