I can't believe Dallas embarrassed me like that!  I, also can't believe Soda likes me!  Maybe I'm crazy, who'd like me?  Lela Grace Winston that is quitter talk!  And you are not a quitter! Yes, sometimes I pep talk myself. But today I just wasn't...believing myself. I parked my bike and sat in an empty ally. I heard footsteps and slid back against the wall. "Lela?! Please come out!" It was Soda. I stood up and poked my head around the brick wall. "Lela!" He yelled and spun me around. "You act like you haven't seen me in a year." I giggled. "Well...I was worried about you." He said holding me tighter. "Why'd you run out?" He asked. "Because...I like you." I said blushing and looking down at my high heels. He grabbed my chin gently, and made me meet his eyes. "I like you to, like...boyfriend girlfriend like." He said chuckling. "Will you be my girl?" He asked taking out a promise ring with a pink diamond. I grinned, "Yes!" I threw my arms around him knocking him off balance. We both started laughing and just sat there looking into each others eyes, I knew we were meant to be, it just took a little while to realize it. We hopped back onto my bike, his arms around my waist.  "Are we gonna tell the guys?"  He asked.  "Yup, right now!"  I yelled and popped a wheelie.  "Lela, your gonna get us killed!"  Soda said holding onto me tighter as I zoomed out of the lot.  "It's a fun way to die!"  I said as I stopped in front of the Curtis house.  Soda scooped my up in his arms and carried me inside.  "Guys," I said as I jumped out of Soda's arms, "Soda and I are...dating."  I said beaming.  Dallas and Darry stood up, marched over to Soda and grabbed him by his collar, the whole gang surrounded Soda.  "You break her heart-."  Darry started, "We break your face."  Dallas finished.  Soda gulped in  mockery but nodded his head and put his arm around me.  "Soda and Lela sitting in a tree!"  Two-bit sung.  "K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"  The rest of the gang finished.  I just rolled my eyes and plopped down on the couch, Soda and I were finally together and nothing could change that.  He sat down next to me and took my hand in his.  I put my head on his shoulder and sighed happily.
