"Aishu!" hollered Adhitya from his cabin.
"Yes." Aishwarya stood up and walked towards him.
"Well, am I allowed to call you like that?" he asked rather calmly.
"Like what?"
"As Aishu..." He trailed off.
"Yes, of course you can. Why are you behaving so formally?"
"Is it? I am privileged to call you by nickname then? Super!" He cackled till the other employees looked up from their desks.
"Calm down, Adhi!" Aishwarya whispered hurriedly.
"Wow! You're calling me as Adhi. I love that."
"Okay." She then turned around and walked back to her cabin.
"Wait!" Adhitya yelled and grabbed her hand. His actions took her off guard. Immediately she wriggled off her hand and glared at him.
"Why are you behaving like this, Adhi? I am not your lover to pull at my hand like this. We have been friends only for the past one week. This is unacceptable. What will the others think if they had seen you do that?"
"I am sorry. I did it in an impulse. Extremely sorry. There's something important I need to tell you. That's why."
"What's the matter?" she asked, seating herself on a chair beside him.
"My cousin Suganya will be staying in my home for the next six months."
"So what? What's important in it?"
"No, I am just tensed about her stay. I think she is in love with me. But I don't have any interest in her. Having her in my home will surely complicate things. I don't know what to do."
"Oh! Is that your problem? I can give you a solution, provided you come to my cabin now."
"Why?"
"Rajesh sir has given me work. I have to type out the details of the beneficiaries who had acquired motor insurance policies in the past one month. I have a typewriter in my cabin. So, come there."
Soon, the duo was in Aishwarya's cabin, sipping hot coffee and typing out the document.
"Okay, tell me what should I do?" Adhitya asked impatiently.
"Just ignore her."
"That won't suffice. It's already tried and tested. Tell something new."
"Tell her that you are already in love."
"She will inform my parents and create a huge ruckus. It's very difficult. Next?"
"Kill her."
"What?!" Adhitya choked on his coffee.
"I said, kill her. Don't you know how to murder a person? I will get you a few books on the science of killing human beings from the library. Read them and grasp some knowledge. Then do it perfectly. Okay?"
Adhitya was shell-shocked at Aishwarya's nonchalant speech on murder. He had never expected her to be very open-minded.
"Are you serious?"
"Dead serious." Aishwarya suppressed a smile at the corner of his lips.
The next moment, Adhitya burst out laughing and patted her playfully on her shoulder. Though it was a friendly touch, Aishwarya flinched a bit.
"Now, I am seriously asking, what should I do?"
"Be out of her sight. Wake up in the morning, get ready to office and arrive here, without even looking at her face. Then go back in the evening, have snacks and lock yourself in your room. Repeat the same for dinner too. She will get the signals by then."
