Chapter Uno: Kingdom of Sirenas
"Artemis wake up," said a soft voice, I groaned curling up in a ball, "Artemis you are going to be late for your first day of school!" said the voice.

"Wake me up when it's summer again." I mumbled half-asleep.

"Get up or I get the ice." The voice warned and my eyes perked open.
"You wouldn't dare!" I exclaimed only to see that he wasn't in the room anymore, I sat up and looked at the door. I quickly got out of bed before he came back with a bucket of ice, I went to the bathroom and looked at the time. I sighed I had forty minutes before school started which meant I have 20 minutes for showering, ten minutes of getting ready and ten minutes of eating. I promptly stripped of my clothes and went into the cold shower. I let out a sigh once the cold water hit my back, I quickly took a shower. After ten minutes of showering I got out of the shower with a towel wrapped around me and I walked to my bedroom only to be assaulted (not sexually) by my father, Reid Harris, as he dumped the ice on me which cause me to shriek.

"REALLY DAD?! I JUST FINISHED TAKING A SHOWER!" I yelled and he merely chuckled at my reaction, "please get out I need to get ready!" I said while I pushed the heavy 6 foot man out of my room and onto the hallway. I dried myself quickly and took out my nude color under garments, and put them on I went into my closet picking out high-waisted navy blue jeans and a Panic At The Disco shirt, I grabbed my white converse and quickly slipped those on. I sat on my chair that sat in front of my mirror and did my hair putting it into an effortless ponytail. I packed my bag for school last night so I was all set. I looked at the clock hanging from the wall and I realized I still had time. I looked at myself in the mirror, I put on some makeup, some eyeliner, mascara and lip balm. I got up and threw my backpack over my shoulder and jogged down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Hey daddy." I greeted him and kissed his cheek while reaching for an apple still mad at him from earlier but slightly calmer.

"Excited for your senior year of high School?" he asked me smiling at me, I just shrugged taking a bite of my red apple.

"I guess, I mean it is the last year of this hell hole." I stated while sitting across from him.

"True, oh so very true." my father commented and I gave him a small smile. I took out my phone and looked at the time, 7:30, (what starts with an f and ends with an uck?) fireduck! I quickly got off my seat and gave my dad a kiss on the head then scurried out of the house and into the garage to get my bike. I looked for my lime green bike, once I spotted it. I hoped on it and rode to school. From my house to the school was at least a twenty minute drive and I had to be at school at 8:15. I drove past the beautiful beach by my home, I drove past my favorite candy store, and I drove past my favorite place to be, the private community swimming pool where only my school's swim team practices.

At School
I was having trouble opening my locker, I groaned and slammed on my locker in frustration.

"Need help?" a fake man voice said, "because I'm a manly man and I can open your locker." I looked at my best friend Emily and let out a giggle. The thing that was happening right now in the middle of the hallway is  Emily and I's thing, I pretend to be the damsel in distress and she pretends to be the hero, who is a man.

"Yes! Please help me, you see I can't open my locker." I said in a high pitched voice while putting my hand on my forehead.

"Well I can open it! Stand back!" Emily exclaimed and I did as I was told, I let out a soft chuckle at our immaturity. "What's so funny?" She asked.

"Oh nothing, it's just you are so strong and I'm just merely a weakling." I exclaimed and she smiled. I looked at her and let out another chuckle, she was struggling to open my locker.
