Chad and Alexis have been best friends since they where in Pre-K they both are now 20 . Both are from NoLa. When they graduated just two years ago they went their separate ways to explore life and promised to keep in touch but they slowly lost touch over time.

Chad Pov --

My mama again is choosing her crackhead boyfriend Randy ova meh. I'm so damn sick of that shit. She wants me to help her pay bills but giving him the money for crack. Hell nah.

"Chad rent is due" my mom shouted from her room

"Okay I just gave you 500 dollars two days ago" I said with a blank stare

"Okay so what. Regardless the rent is still do and I have no money"she spat

"Well I ain't got none either so I don't know what your about to do." I spat as I walked toward the kitchen

" Please help me out I know you got something" she pleaded

"Mama I ain't got no money I just gave you my last" I semi yelled

"Boy don't be yelling at your mama cause your Lil ass don't want to pay no bills " randy butted in

"Mane I wun talking to you and I wun yelling so gone on"

Then he got in my face "Boy don't test me I'll beat your ass like I use to when you was a little babyboy"

"Fuck out my face patna"i said through clenched teeth

"Chad don't talk to him like that" my mom said slowly

" here we go again" I spat

"Chad you know it's not like that" she said with sympathetic eyes

"Ion know shit mane or more so it seems exactly Like that I'm out " I turned to walk to my room

I begin packing up everything I could get into my suitcase and the one backpack I had. Once I gathered all my things I walked toward the front door.

"Chad where you going baby? " my mom asked breathlessly

"Away from here bye"

I walked out and slammed the door. I got in my car and I sped off I don't know where to but I just left.

Alexis Pov--

I sat In my apartment alone. Just watching Mulan my favorite movie. Yes I live alone because my mother kick me out because of her boyfriend supposedly I needed to respect him. Days like these I wish I had someone to talk to. I work as a medical assistant at a clinic. I have one friend and she is really busy or just can't come over. I have kids (2) they are twins King and Queen, both are currently with my godmother.

"I'm hungry" I spoke to myself

I got up and grabbed my keys and headed out to Chick-Fil-A . When I pulled up I got out and walked inside. I went to the shortest line and stood next to a tall skinny light skinned man.

Chad --

I went to chick-fil-a because I was hungry. I'm standing in and line then I look to my left. At a short 5'3 nice figure red girl. She kinda resembled my best friend from the side. I guess she felt me staring because then she turned to look at me.
