So yeah, Lee is a goddamn good-looking guy, but despite those damn gorgeous pair of eyes, I could easily see a lot of mischief going on deep down inside. His smirk was enough to tell me so.
--{ That Night, 4 Years Ago }--
He slipped both hands in his pockets and looked at me again. "I knew you thought I was following you, so I kept my distance. Sorry to break it to you though, but I wasn't following you. You see that house right there? That," he said, taking one hand out and pointing to the similar-looking house next to mine, "is my house."
Fuck. Not only was I wrong, but also humiliated. God, I felt like shit. I didn't know what to say. I was at loss of words. Before I could process what was happening, I suddenly uttered, "Th-- that? Oh."
Stuttering?! Yeah, way to go miss badass!
I didn't know how long I stood there, just looking at his house because I didn't want to face him with my cheeks getting crimson red out of embarrasment. Maybe he noticed though, 'cause he came up beside me and felt his left hand on my right shoulder. He shook me lightly and then he said, "You wanna come inside? I could make you warm if you know what I mean."
My mouth fell open. Did I just hear that right? Shocked at his words, I looked at him with raised eyebrows and he was smiling! He just winked at me as I rested both of my hands on either sides of my hips. "Sorry, but could you repeat that?" Annoyance was building up again in me that I was ready to punch this guy in his amazingly sculptured face.
He removed his hand from my shoulder and raised both hands as if in surrender. "Whoa, I don't know what you're thinking but I'm just trying to be nice. It's pretty cold tonight and I don't think you'd survive in that outfit." He said, gesturing to my whole body. He stopped at my shorts for a while and once again smirked, so I tugged the hem of my shorts downwards and kept my hand there.
Asshole. "I'd better go now. Bye, dick!" I snapped at him, putting on my best fake smile and rushed up to the porch of my house. I didn't look back but I heard him say, "It's Leroy, babe!" with a light chuckle.
I could just hear the smirk in his voice! Ugh, we've just met and he's already getting on my nerves. Reaching for the doorknob I cursed silently under my breath, "Fucking gorgeous stupid assh--"
THUD!!!
Ow! First that stupid guy and now this stupid door! Since my thoughts were so occupied by that stupid neighbour of mine I forgot that I locked the door when I went out to jog. I quickly searched for my keys in my pockets.. only to find nothing. None. "Oh my God, please not tonight.." I didn't bother to bring my phone with me because I thought I could just come home if I had my keys. Which at the moment, I didn't.
I'm stuck outside of my own house in the middle of the night. I went around the house, trying to open every window that I could find, but as expected, not one would budge. I'm probably gonna freeze to death if I didn't go in any time soon. Then, I thought of the most stupid but necessary idea that I could come up with. This is going to be a long night..
[ 30 minutes later ]
"So, Emily right?" he asked, passing me a blanket along the way. "Welcome to South Fairdale," he said with a friendly smile, showing off a pair of dimples on either sides of his face. He sat down on the comfy-looking couch, rested his hands at the back of his head and tossed his feet up on the coffee table. "If you weren't able to catch it earlier, my name's Leroy by the way. Leroy McKinley," he said while looking at me curiously.
I didn't want to respond anymore because I was tired and practically freezing and the couch I was sitting on was a leather one which I was NOT very fond of. I could care less about what he has to say, but I was in his house and I should at least show a few good manners, even though it's not a favorite thing of mine to do. "Yeah, but please just call me Em. Or Mitchell, or whatever.. just not Emily. It sounds so formal," I said in a bored tone. Hey, at least I said something, right?
