That's all I heard as I walked into my class , it's my first day at this new school and I'm already not feeling it .
The class was full of a bunch of cliques . You had your jocks , then you had your hoes , you had your nerds , then you had me . The anti-social , quiet , weird girl with purple hair who never talks .
I quickly rushed to the back of the class and took a seat in the corner .
" Good morning Class ! " A middle aged , short woman greeted .
" Good Morning Ms . Hunt "
The class answered groggily .
Ms . Hunt looked around happily and sat her things on her desk before speaking .
" Jayceon can you take the hood off please , thank you " she said not even waiting for an answer from the guy with his head down .
The whole class turned and looked at him , as he slowly lifted his head and took his hood off .
" The fuck y'all lookin at .. " He mumbled .
" Jayceon , watch your mouth . So class , I see we have a new student in the class ,why don't you come up here and and introduce yourself . " Ms . Hunt said looking at me .
Fuck . Me .
I got up slowly and made my way up to the front of the class . I avoided eye contact with every student as they glared at me . My nervousness began to rise . I cleared my throat and tried to speak but nothing came out .
" Anyday now . " Some girl said making the class erupt in laughter .
" I-I'm Raini , I'm in the 11th grade and umm ... and um- " I stuttered .
The same girl starting to mock my stuttering .
" Shai ! Detention ! Now stop talking ! " Ms . Hunt yelled . Shai rolled her eyes and popped her gum .
" You may continue Raini . "
" I- I like to read books and Sing a little . "
" Forreal ? Then sing right now . " Shai taunted .
" I'd rather not ... " I mumbled as I walked to my desk .
Ms. Hunt began her lesson after scolding Shai one more time .
" Aye . New girl " I heard someone whisper .
I looked to my left and saw hoodie boy looking at me .
" You got a pencil ? " He asked a little louder , making Ms. Hunt turn around .
" Umm , yeah . " I whispered and dug in my backpack .
" Jayceon , Raini detention " she said and continued teaching .
I'm shocked because this is my first detention ever . Aren't we supposed to get a warning first ! It's my first day !
I handed him a pencil and slouched down in my seat embarrassed .
Shai glanced back at me and smirked
" See after school . " she mouthed .
Detention
3:20 pm
" Take a seat where ever , just don't sit next to each other . " Ms. Hunt guided .
Then she pulled out a container " Phones in the bin . No talking . No sleeping ... Jayceon . " She walked through the rows with the container .
" You will be writing me a 5 paragraph essay about why you're here .. "
" Because you're a bitch . " I thought .
" How you will be better next time . And why you won't do it again . "
" and if it is not done by the end of detention then you will receive a suspension . "
Is this hoe serious right now ?
" You should have your own paper and pencils , if not ... then oh well . "
I quickly began writing because the faster I get this done the faster I can leave this hell hole .
The Monroe residence
4:30 pm
" Hey baby , why are you so late ? " My mother asked .
" I had detention ... " I shamefully mumbled .
" Hm. And who is the teacher ? "
" Ms. Hunt and excuse my language but she's a bitch Mom . " I rambled .
My mom laughed and pulled me into a hug . " So I'm guessing your first day wasn't all that . "
" Mhm mhm . "
" Go clean your self up , then come and eat . "
" Okay mom . " I stomped up the stairs .
