My sister is wasting away.
She's barely eaten a thing in weeks, and no amount of persuasion can make her. I tell her she'll die if she doesn't eat, but she still doesn't give in.
I think she wants to die.
I can't bear to look at her in this state, and our parents don't know what to do. It breaks their hearts, but they just can't help her. They suggested taking her to a counsellor, but she refused. Our mum even went as far as making her an appointment, but Carmen just wouldn't go. She's been brainwashed by the abuse of her peers. She now thinks that even a tiny amount of food will make her fat, and that anyone who tries to help her will do nothing more than force her to eat and make the bullying worse.
And they won't stop, either. They still lash out at her every day, and the insults are always the same, even though Carmen hasn't been overweight for a long time. They have no idea what their words are doing.
No matter how much weight my sister loses, she's still going to think it's not good enough, because they're still going to tell her she needs to lose more. And she'll believe them.
