It's late. My clan is all asleep. I've been pretty bored, so I want to sneak over to the border to see if Sir TouLong is up. I've worked so hard this week, we're pretty well set up for the remainder of our stay. Of course, when I'm working hard, LaLa tries her hardest to put herself in my vision, lounging and playing games, while I'm sweating my fur off.
It's silent out. I hope the lion that chased and attacked me isn't prowling around. I've marked where I met him on my map.
The border is deserted, crude yet erect. No one wants to waste building resources, so it's a line of sandbags, heavy and basically useless.
I prowl along the barrier. No sign of Sir TouLong-
"Young whippersnapper, I've been f'llowing you this whoole time ya been prowlin' this fence. Ya ought t' be dis'ppointed in yerself, youngeoen, not realising ah'm here."
I'm too startled to scream, but find myself on my back, looking up at him. He sniffs.
"That's dog for 'Yer me master', yoongun. Don't disperse the fam'ly rep-you-tation."
"Y-You startled me. A little. Sir."
"Stammerin's worse'an an 'er'. Calm yerself down and rewind. Ye been blowin' me off, ye disrespecterin' young youngun."
"I've been grounded for a week. Then another one for work. If Mu- er, Aliemaenae or Cheif Canvasatorn found me down here, I'd be in massive trouble."
"Ye been ground'd fer why, exactly?"
"Er... well, I made a map and got a little beat up" I point to my poultice, wrapped under my chin.
Sir TouLong sighed. "Outta bounds or in them?"
"I... went out."
"Bring me the map t'morrow mornin', we'll see what ya got."
"But I'm grounded!"
"Then sky yourself, yengun. T'morrow."
He prowled off, melting into the shadows.
How exactly am I meant to get to the border in the morning? I mean, if I disappear for a second, then Mum and Dad will go ballistic.
Ugh.
