Chapter Five
Crissy needed to stop by Victoria's Secret, and I stood in the corner watching her pick out underwear while Wesley observed. There was a hint of hunger in his eyes, lust.
"They're cute, aren't they? I know I love it when my guy goes shopping with me," one of the sales associates saw me ogling at them.
"They're not together," I replied.
"How do you know that?" she asked.
"Because he's my boyfriend and that's his coworker."
"No offense, miss, but that does not look like a woman who is just a coworker."
I looked up at her and glanced at her nametag.
"Sasha, is it?"
"Yes. Is there anything I can help you with?" she inquired.
"What do you mean by she doesn't look like just a coworker?"
"She's gorgeous," she replied. "And if that's your boyfriend, you need to tell him to get his priorities straight. He needs to treat you better, honey. I can only imagine what it feels like to have to stand here and watch him buy her lingerie."
"He's not buying it for her; she just needed his opinion," I claimed.
"Really? Because he just asked one of the cashiers to ring up that black teddy," she replied.
I turned my head to see Crissy smiling as Wesley spoke to a sales associate. The worker headed to the registers and placed the black teddy over a couple other pieces of intimates.
"We're supposed to be dress shopping; but she just had to stop here first," I said.
"It looks to me like she had this planned from the start. Otherwise, you would've just gone straight to dress shopping. Have you known her long?"
"Like, an hour at best."
"She's a pro."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Crissy is a pro."
"Wait, you know her?" I asked.
"Let's just say...I know what she's capable of. Watch out for your man, miss."
"Wait, I have a question for you."
"I really have to get back to work."
"Nope, you've already strayed away from your job to talk to me about Crissy and my boyfriend, so you have to answer me."
"Alright then. Shoot."
"Do you think he's cheating on me with her?"
"Is her hair obviously dyed blonde?"
I glanced at Crissy and her peeking brunette roots. I nodded at Sasha, frowning.
"There's my answer. I'm sorry," she said.
She walked off and headed to help some other customers. I watched as Wesley swiped his credit card to pay for Crissy's things. She thanked him with a peck on the cheek and that's the moment I snapped.
I rushed up to them and slapped Crissy with my white rose.
"Mia, what the hell?!" Wesley growled.
"Why are you buying her stuff, huh?"
"She forgot her credit card, so I said she could pay me back," he answered.
