One To Start the Change.

I easily found my way to the honor art class that served as my first block. When you've lived somewhere your whole life you know where everything is. I sat at the back of the small class. I've done this for the last three years. I avoided people, besides Danny. I didn't talk in class. I'm pretty sure most don't even know what I sound like, much less my name. Girls in a normal state of mind would complain about this. Me on the other hand, I was okay with it. No drama, or trouble. Just me and Danny. I didn't know that it was going to change very soon.

"Are you Ms. Wheeler?" A raspy voice filled the room. I looked up from my sketch book. The girl standing at the teachers desk was like a being species. She stood there with her brightly colored hair curling down her back. Purple jeans tightly cover her legs. A black jacket covered her torso.

"Yes. You must be Alex? " The girl nodded. She hasn't yet reveled her face to the room.

"You can sit in the back." My eyes widened as I saw the finger pointed in my direction. The only chair left was next to me. The thought of having this new person next to me was alarming. The girl, Alex, turned and I saw her face. Black smudged around her bright grey eyes. Her odd shaped nose made her look like a pixie from a child's story. She smiled and walked towards me in boot covered feet. She sat next to me and was quick to talk to me.

"Hi. What's your name, I'm Alex." She smiled. I notice the stud in her nose. Her pale face looked ambitious.

"Oh, um. I-I-I'm Antigone." She raised an eyebrow.

"Never heard that name." She kept her friendly smile.

"It's from a play. My mom was a drama geek." She nodded.

"It's a pretty name don't get me wrong. At least you have a name to remember." I raised an eyebrow.

"I never paid much attention to it." I said quietly. I wasn't used to this much interaction with people.

"So what grade are you in?" She asked. She's was very energetic as she spoke. Very live and entertaining in a way.

"I'm a senior." I said quickly. I was still getting used to it.

"Oh, I'm a sophomore." I nodded, not knowing how to carry the conversation. I looked back at my sketch. I wasn't quite sure what was on the page. Different shapes and body parts covered the page. I ignored the project and shaded things here and there.

"That's really cool. I'm not near that good." Alex piped up next to me, making me jump.

"Thanks. It's nothing. I can't even explain it." I looked it over again.

"That's the best kind of art. It makes people wonder." She smiled at me. At the time I didn't know what doors this new girl was going to open me up to a whole new life. She would be the reason for my change.
