The Start to My End
Friday had come and I was now in the hallway waiting for Alex to take me to an unknown place. I saw as she came towards me with her colorful hair swinging in curls. She hugged me quickly.
"Are you ready?" She asked excitedly. I nodded and followed beside her.
"So is your mom picking us up or something?" I asked her.
"No. My sister's friend is." How was she always so cheery? It seemed nothing got this girl down. Always smiling, laughing. She had this way of making you feel kind of bright inside. I liked it. I knew I loved how being around her made me smile. We made it into the parking lot and I followed her to a red ford and got in the back as she took the front. There was a girl in the drivers seat. Her hair was cut short around her face in layers. She was an Asian girl with closed set eyes and sun tanned skin. She turned to me, looking me over before speaking.
"Hi, I'm Claire." She was just as chipper as Alex.
"I'm Antigone." She smiled.
"Pretty name." She said to me before turning back and driving out of the lot. The two talked about all kinds of things. From school to the house. When they hit a topic that caught my attention.
"So we got a couple grams and new bongs today. You're gonna love the one I got you." I raised an eyebrow. What were they talking about?
We pulled into the driveway of a sizable house. It looked like any other. White, green shutters, cute little porch, the whole nine yards. We got out the car and I followed behind the girls. Claire was a short girl. I was around 5'5 and she was a few inches shorter than me. Inside the door we walked into an open living room. Colors filled the place. The living room was the same aqua color of my eyes. I could see the entrance to a peach colored room.
"We're home!" Alex shouted out into the open.
"Come in here." A gruff girls voice came from the hallway at the back of the living room. I followed Alex and Claire to a room. The room itself was exciting. Many colors covered the walls along with posters and photos. In the middle sat a laid out futon bed. The girl laid on the bed was almost as exciting as the room. Two ice blue eyes stared at me. They went so well with the round, pale face that bore them. Framing her face was long, straight, layers of whites and blues. She gave me a warm smile.
"Antigone, this is my sister Jewl."

"Antigone? Like the princess from the play?" She said with her crooked smile. She was a sight to look at. Everything about her invited me in. Especially her voice. The natural roughness to it when she spoke. Something about it was just strange.
"Yeah, my mom was really into it." I explained. She nodded her head as it fell onto a scattered pillow.
"So Alex, do you want to see your present?" This question brought a delight to Alex's face. She nodded and jumped on the bed.
"Come on Antigone. We don't bite." Alex said, patting a spot next to her. I say down, crossing my legs. Jewl reached under the bed and pulled out something wrapped in bubble wrap. Alex took it excitedly. Under the bubble wrap was what looked like a strange vase. It was all kinds of colors with a metal piece sticking out from the side.
"Isn't it cool?" Alex asked handing me the thing. It was hollow on the inside.
"What is it?" I asked looking it over.
"It's a bong." She said with her usual smile. I raised an eyebrow.
"What's that?" I asked still wanting clarity about the glass. Her mouth dropped.
"Oh my God. Guys, she's never smoked before." Alex said to the two girls. Jewl sat up with a devilish smile.
"Do you know what weed is?" Jewl asked. My eyes widened.
"Well of course." She took the bong from me.
"Well this is something you smoke it with." She looked at the bong then me.
"Do you want to smoke with us?" My mouth fell slack.
"And get high?! I can't do that." I said, my voice squeaking in the process.
"It's not as bad as people make it seem. I mean no ones ever died from it." Jewl giggled.
"What happens?" I asked, now curious.
"Well you smoke it and the high hits and you feel like you're floating. It's different for everyone. Sometimes you get so hungry and it can make you thirsty. It's really nice. It'll make you chill out." I raised and eyebrow. Was it worth it?
"Maybe just one time." I said. It couldn't be that bad. I mean lots if people do it. One time couldn't hurt me.
Jewl smiled big and reached back under the bed. When she came up, a glass jar was in her hand. She handed it to me. It was filled with a green herb.
"Smell it." She told me. I gave her a weird look. Taking the top off the jar, I lift it to my nose. A pungent smell filled my nose. I pulled it from my face and handed it back to her.
"It stinks." I said. They chuckled.
"The more it stinks the better." Alex nudged me. I watched as Jewl pulled some of the green stuff and put it in the metal piece of the bong. She handed it to me.
"Okay when I light this start breathing in and put your mouth here." I did as she said, putting my mouth on the open part. The lighter sparked fire and I breathed in. It stung my throat. I pulled away and coughed. Milky smoke escaped my mouth.
"Damn! That was a big hit." Claire said.
"Are you alright?" Alex asked. She looked generally worried. I nodded my head.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It just burned." Jewl nodded.
"It does that sometimes." She pushed the bong to me.
"Take another hit it gets better." She smiled at me. Something made me trust her. I put my mouth back to the bong and inhaled as she lit it. This time it wasn't bad. No burn. It was smooth. I let my head back and watched the smoke escaped from me.
I laid back, looking up at the blank ceiling. My whole body felt like jello. My mind raced. I loved it.
"Do you listen to music?" Claire asked me. I gave her a look.
"Well, duh." I laughed. Everything was funny now.
"Will you dj for us?" She asked. I nodded and grabbed the cord connecting to her speakers and plugged it into my phone. I looked through the songs I had. I smiled when I saw one. I played it. I let my mind wander as the dubstep started playing.
