@saintlukas, your wish has been (slightly) granted

Sol 42, Naomi's POV

I haven't gotten a message from the crew yet, it's 17:00. I guess you could say that maybe they can no longer screen override because of how far away they are, but I'm actually worried that something bad happened. I mean, NASA said that they might be attacked. Suddenly, a message pings up.

We have a high chance of surviving with the amount of food I have, but when we were attacked, Emma got injured. She is unconscious and there is no way of knowing how extensive the brain damage is until she wakes up.-Katerina Diaz

Either they got a direct connection or there might be a chance that this could be their last message, I have a worring suspicion that it's the latter. The dim lights only intensify my loneliness. Even though they may be okay, I probably won't be. Taking a deep breath, I start typing my message. Then I stop. I don't know what to say, nothing seems right. Everything feels either too empty or too sincere. Okay, I just have to try to write SOMETHING.

I really hope that you're okay, I can't seem to be able to write anything good. Tell me when Emma wakes up.-Naomi

After sending it, I start to regret every bit of the wording. Seriously, it looks like a little kid wrote it.

Sorry for the horrible wording.-Naomi

It's okay we worded our original message badly too. Sometimes it feels like nothing is worth your emotion. By the way incase you haven't noticed, we got direct connection, I think it's just because we don't have any extra altitude adjuster fuel.-Katerina Diaz

One, thanks, and two, what exactly happened?-Naomi

The food storage blew up but Kun and I were able to get enough food to last until we can get a resupply. Emma was thrown against the wall in the explosion. Nathan is still blaming himself for tending to Allison's broken arm for a little before coming.-Katerina Diaz
Also, Kate made a joke after risking her life. Told you that she would do that at some point. Obviously it contained a swear word. -Allison Lesley

I close the laptop, I don't know how to respond.
"This couldn't be much worse" I mumble walking to my bed. I'm trapped on Mars and they are stuck in space with limited food. Whoever did this probably kills people for fun. Heck, I'm not even sure if Aries 3 was purely bad luck anymore. Another thing is, why attack us? Why would someone spend huge amounts of money trying to kill only 6 people? I guess at least they aren't just bombing the U.S. At random, but I'm kind of worried that that may eventually happen.

Sol 45, Naomi's POV

I wake up to a loud hissing sound. I get out of my bed and look around.
"Airlock 2 pressurizing" a mechanical voice states out of the blue. S***! What even could this be? I remember reading scary stories along these lines but I never thought they were possible. No, it's just a mechanical error. I quickly change from my pajamas to my clothes and grab my EVA suit.
"OPEN THE AIRLOCK OR YOU WILL BE EXTERMINATED" someone with a heavy Korean accent yells. I look over at the screen displaying a message Emma sent me a while ago after reading one of those stories.

If anyone tries to get in and they even could be not part of Aries 1.2, grab your EVA suit and get to the garden, put on the suit and run to the nearest rover, the modified one if it is possible.

"TEN SECONDS!" He yells, showing the live video. He has a gun, not just any gun though, a modified shotgun.

No, in this universe Aries 3 was still completely bad luck. Also, I feel like I rarely say anything in these but that's just because idk what to add. But anyways, I have lots of school work so I'll probably only update every three days but I am far from running out of chapters to add. It's just that there is still going to be tons of school work until June so I'm kinda stressed. (I occasionally get 3 day weekends but otherwise I don't have any more breaks until summer). I just got the guild wars 2 expansion and it's amazing btw.
