                                                                   PROLOGUE

When you don’t have roof over your head, you have much wider access to the sky. Sitting alone under it and counting stars is all that is I am doing. Every time I count, my eyes stick to the brightest one, the most luminous one. I believe it has some special bond with me. But here again, being a science student myself it sounds ridiculous from my mouth.

Isn’t it silly how a person you’ve known hardly for a year or two becomes the prier reason for you to live? And the craziest part is that the person you fell for was the person you hated the most on this earth. Well the last part was just a simple exaggeration.

The reason I have no roof over my head is- I’m in the backyard of my childhood home in this chilly December night. And the reason I’m here is- I just got a wedding invitation from a very old friend. Suddenly I feel like I’m really missing those days.

I had just came back home from my clinic and had started checking out the messages in my messaging machine, that’s when I came across the most unexpected one.-

“(Beep) Hey nerdy, how’s everything going? Seriously girl! You have some issues. It’s been eight years now and all I get from you are few hi’s and bye’s, even that on net. I’m really mad at you. Anyway, I’m getting married girl. Well! It’s sort of arranged. I know it doesn’t sounds like me but weird things happen (laugh). Remember fight we got into in Montana. That was real fun. Ohh! Yeah. You’re my bridesmaid, but I’m not sure if both of my best men will come or not. Never mind. I have couriered the invitation, it must be on its way. Bye Dr. Stevens. See you at the wedding.”

It was so refreshing to hear her voice again. I took out my treasure box from the basement and came to the backyard in this chilly night. I began with my re-encounter with my memories. Sitting under this full moon reminds of a lot itself.

According to these pictures, my life went through a major transformation during that trip. My parents always dreamt to see me as a doctor. Looking at my academic side, I always deserved to be. But the part which really frustrated me at that time was I was a totally socially withdrawn person. No fun, no adventure, no friends, no nothing.

I always used to wonder how lucky other kids in my class were. I was the topper of my class, always sitting on the front desk, studying even during the free slots. Well I was going according to my plan. I took medical and got my degree, applied for the best college in the states and got accepted. But soon I realized that wasn’t what I wanted. All I wanted at that time was an experience for life time. And that’s when I stepped up for myself.
