It was a warm night, late in September and the forest was eerily quiet. Until a whisper echoed through the empty forest's halls carved by the forest itself.

"Listen, I believe that you all know how the plan goes; I won't be repeating myself, we have been planning this for months. If we screw this up we take everyone else on our necks. Understood? " Tally said.

Everyone nodded.  Footsteps were heard and later a young boy's face and figure appeared from the darkness. The boy was holding a flash drive that he handed to Tally.

"Thanks Kyle." She said to the young boy that arrived, panting. He nodded in response.

"Shall I continue? Well, Peter and Liza will have to crawl through the air pipe. Peter, you will have to be decoy by making explosions. Matt and I, will sneak in through the warehouse and then go to the Escort's room. Once we reach our destination, we install the software to the Escort. We then meet again at the warehouse. After that, we run. Need I make further analysis?"

When no one answered she said "Apparently not." Kyle, though, had something else in mind.

" You didn't mention my name, is that supposed to mean something?" he said, using a tone that showed complaint.

"We've been through this again, Kyle." she said nearly exasperated. That seemed to only anger him more.

"I am not keeping watch!" he all but whined. He was pissing her off. Again.

"It is a respectful post, I do not understand why you are so  against it." he snorted upon hearing that.

"Because, keeping watch is for old people. I am not old." Ok, Tally now wanted to throttle him.

"I must controvert you on that one. Keeping watch like I said is a respectful post, given to the most trusted, the ones with the most qualifications. On the other hand, I see your point." Kyle thought he won once he heard her say that, but was crashed once she finished her sentence. "Maybe you are too young."

He was left speechless,  realising his mistake. "Now, I would like you to behave, and keep watch. Nothing is going to change my point of view on the matter."

"But I don't understand ! I had the same training as you did!" She gave him a stern look.

"Stop acting like a child. You are delaying the mission." With that said, everyone, including Kyle, took different paths, disappearing in the forest's shadows.

TALLY

Matt and I crawled soundlessly at the moist ground. We stayed that way for a while, until I heard his voice, a whisper that I did not catch on because of my great sense of hearing, but because of other reasons.

"You know, you shouldn't be so harsh on the kid." He said it in a way that showed his disapointment towards me. Damn, I knew it alright. I was being a stuck up bitch. But I didn't want him breathing on my neck.

"Just like you said, he is still a kid, which is why I did not give him another post." I whispered back.

"That's not what I meant and you know it." He said in a stern way that I did not appreciate being directed on me.

"What I do is none of your concern Matt. After all, it is me who had the qualifications to be the leader." Matt stayed silent for a minute, shocked by the tone of my voice. Well, he shouldn't be.

"You know you are breaking the protocol, right?" I turned to glare at him once I heard him say that, fury masked not as much as I would like to behind my stare.

"If I remember correctly, it was you who broke the protocol first, Matt." Matt stiffened at my words, highly uncomfortable. Of course he knew what I was talking about. He was the one that caused the incident that I wanted so badly to forget. It had made things between us strange. I didn't like that.

We continued as we were after that. We sneaked through the back of the warehouse. I, taking lead, went to open the door but Matt stopped me. He gave me a look that said "Please, stay put". Even though I wouldn't admit it to anyone, I appreciated that he looked out for me -very few people did. He opened the door and checked if anyone was there. There wasn't.  After I had stepped in, Matt closed the door, careful not to make a sound.

The warehouse was packed full of boxes. They were put in a way that they formed a labyrinth. At the other side of the room, was an other door, the one that lead to the basement, where the Escort's room was. We opened the door and checked if anyone was there. There were a couple of guards. Well, that is until a loud bang! was heard from not too far away. Bingo. That was definitely Peter. I held back a smile. Soon, the guards were running towards them.

Not a heartbeat later, we were out of our hiding spot. We opened a couple of doors, not sure which one exactly lead to the Escort's room, until we found it. Finally. Matt opened the door, but it was me that first set foot on the room. And I was left speechless. The site before me was like no other but I wasn't sure if that was good or bad. I settled on neutral. The room was enormous but that was certainly not what had me with my mouth hanging. Rows and rows and rows of thousands of nearly identical beauties. The Escorts.

I held my breath. I then took a step. I exhaled. The sound echoed through the lifeless room. Matt and I, deciding not to waste another second, quickly searched for what we needed. There. She was standing out from the rest of them. Taller by an inch or two and more athletic posture. Dark mahogany hair, contrasting with her fair skin and golden hazel eyes. Damn I was staring. Well, it seems that Wes definitely had  good taste in women. She was at a far corner. Once we were where she was, we were quick to install the software. After a few secons I was starting to get impatient. God, why won't it go any faster? Even though it was finished in less than half a minute, it seemed more to me. I then saw a green light flicking. At last.

We were quick to get out of the room and get back into the warehouse.  Peter and Liza were soon with us thanks to their means of transport. We ran out of the warehouse and into the woods as fast as lightning and only after we had ran a mile or so I let myself relax a little. Phew! I was really stressed out about this mission. It was a little window that we desperately needed. Today was a day before the Escorts were presented. The day before today an inspection was made to check for any problems. But today, well, today was the day were nothing was going to happen. The Escorts were in their rooms and the building that had them was empty, other than a few guards. Which was why I was being such a bitch about the whole thing. Well, more than usual anyway. But as I looked at everyone I was pretty sure that there was nothing else to worry about. At least for tonight.
