The sun was in my eyes. God damn that annoying sun. I was shaking. I opened half of my left eye to see where I am, and found that I was back in the van.
Weren't we camping, why are we back in the van? I sat up to look around, and the truth came down on me. I remembered that awful call.
I looked over at Vincent who was sitting next to me and said, "oh my god Vincent..... my grandma.... Oh shit." Tears began streaming down my cheek and Vincent pulled me to him.
His hand began drawing circles on my back, while he kept whispering to me that everything was going to be alright.
I started to remember all the times that me and my grandma went out. She wasn't like any grandma that you'd see on the TV. She isn't always baking or knitting. She's outgoing, nosey, and fun.
If she sees someone that's down, even if she didn't know them, she'd go all wise on them telling them some advice while eating from their food.
What can I say? She's weird like that. But she changed a lot of lives and mine included. I love her and I don't know what will happen to me if I lose her too.
Then it got to me that I didn't tell my dad. I jumped from Vincent's arms and looked for my phone but couldn't find it.
"Where's my phone I-I -have to tell my dad." I was freaking out, and I didn't know how to stop it.
"I already called him so relax until we get to the hospital okay?" Lola said from in front of us.
I nodded then went back to Vincent's arms.
"God please I would do anything I will be nice to everyone, I will pray more, just please let her be okay."
The tears stopped dropping but I still felt like a car just ran over me. Then I remembered that grandma was actually the one that introduced me to Zayn. He's her neighbor that was why I didn't visit her more often after we broke up.
Zayn lived with his dad because his parents were divorced. Grandma was like his grandma too. He'd always be at her house. When she cooks she'd call him to come eat. Also they would always play Xbox together with his friends.
I told you my grandma was cool like that. Would I see him at the hospital? I didn't need to be worrying about that I just need to concentrate on my her at the moment.
We parked in front of the hospital. I got out holding Vincent's hand and went to the receptionist at the door.
"Hello can you tell me where I could find Mrs. Ellen Morelli?" I asked the blond nurse that was sitting in front of the computer.
"Are you related to the patient?" She asked.
"Yes I'm her granddaughter." I answered.
"Okay please put these on. She's in room 07-217; you can take that elevator to the second floor, and then turn right." She said handing me cards that had a clip on top and "Visitor" written on the front. I took one and went the way she told me.
I turned around waiting for everyone else to come but they just stood there. "Well come on." I said beckoning them over.
"I am sorry but only family can go up." the nurse looked at me apologetically.
"Well you know what they are family. Maybe not by blood but by heart so I suggest you let them come up." I said through clenched teeth.
This was not the time to be messing with me.
I smiled as I saw her handing all of them Visitor passes. We all crowded into the elevator and waited and I snuggled into Vincent still holding his hand.
