"Kara!" screamed the whiny voice from Ms. Grant's office at CatCo.

"Coming Ms. Grant!" replied Kara Denvers, giving a quick eye-roll to Winn Schott, her best friend, before rushing to see what Ms. Grant needed.

"Bold And Daring. But Trustworthy. Supergirl Is Here To Befriend."

Kara gave a slight confused look.

"Well, what do you think??"

"For what..." said Kara

"For the news article I'm releasing this afternoon! Don't you ever listen Kara! I'm going to be telling National City how I can now call Supergirl a friend." Boasted Ms. Grant

"A friend?" exclaimed flabbergasted Kara "You really think you're on friend basis?"

"Well why else would she stop Leslie from destroying me if not for a friend? I'm sure the police could have caught Livewire if Supergirl wasn't there, so the only logical explication is Me!"

"You realize I almost got killed..."

"Pardon?" Questioned the CatCo head.

"Nevermind. It's great. " Said Kara. It's not like she'll listen to my advice anyway, though Kara. All of a sudden Kara's phone began to ring.

"I have to take this," she said apologetically to Ms. Grant, running out of the room.

"Alex! What is it?"

"We need your help." Said a voice from the other end of the line.

"On my way."

----------- DEO Headquarters

"Yo. What's up?" Said Kara running in to the control room at DEO.

"This guys up." Replied DEO Head Hank Henshaw.

"We're not sure his name, but we're calling him Power-hungry." Said Alex Denvers, walking in, giving Kara a quick little sister hip bump.

"Power-hungry?" said Kara, giving a confused look to her sister.

"He seems to feed off the energy given off from those he's fighting." Answered Director Henshaw. "We think we've determined he's from a planet four galaxies away from Krypton."

"Let me guess? Fort Rozz inmate?"

"You bet."

"Sir. He's headed down highway 7, towards a Walmart.," explained a young DEO Agent from his computer.

"Victim count?" Asked Alex, a little worried.

"About 207" Replied the agent. "Adults and children."

"I'm stronger than a normal person!" Exclaimed eager Kara. "I'll go fight him"

Alex looked at Kara, then to Director Henshaw, then back to Kara. She did not look very happy about the suggestion.

"Well, what other choice do you have?" smiled Kara running out of the room.

-----------

He was bigger than she had imagined. Tall, buff and a slight green colour with big posing blue veins. "Well, I would not date him" giggled Supergirl mid-flight.

"I'm sure you wouldn't," said an unimpressed Director Henshaw over the headset. "Now get to work."

Kara did a quick shoulder check, seeing the 3 big black DEO vans following her down highway 7. Taking a deep breath she dived from the sky, taking down Power-hungry in an angry tackle. It took him by surprise, at least there she had the advantage. But soon things went downhill. Punch here, kick there. All attempts to harm him were blocked and followed by a counter-attack. And he wasn't tiring! He seemed to grow bigger with every punch and more fierce.

"Kara, we're bringing in back-up." Said Director Henshaw over communications.

"No! I can..." Another punch to the face.

"Send them in now!" Screamed a scared Alex.

Then everything went dark.

-----------

"What happened?"

"Is she OK?"

"I can't believe you put her out there!"

"Geez Winn. I'm fine." Said Kara painfully sitting up.

"Kara." James and Winn rushed over, and immediately bombarded her with questions.

"Guys I'm fine." She said reassuringly to both of them. "Alex what happened?"

"He was too strong for you. We brought in backup and as soon as the guns came out he fled. Although he did shout some pretty mean stuff about finishing you off next time."

"And let me guess. Something about my mother?"

"I guess we've found a trend." Laughed Alex.

"Look. I've got to go." Said James, looking at his watch. "I came over as soon as I heard but didn't exactly tell Lucy where I was going. I'm glad you're feeling better though! Call if you need anything." James gave Kara a quick kiss on the forehead and ran out of the room.

"Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I have to run too. Hank wants me back at the DEO." Alex gave Kara a hug and went to pick up her coat.

"Feel better and DON'T do anything stupid while I'm gone. I'll come check on you later."

"Thanks Alex" Replied Kara. And with that, Alex left too.

"So how did you find out?" Kara asked Winn.

"Well, a CatCo heli picked up the footage doing a traffic report. And well, it's all over the news." Said Winn.

"Oh man. What's Ms. Grant saying about me now?"

"Well, as it happens, great stuff!"

"That's never a good sign."

Winn looked away sheepishly.

"Winn. Tell me what happened."

"Ms. Grant was at Walmart the time of the attack. She thinks you came to save 'your friend'."

"Nooo" groaned Kara. "Not this best friend business again! I've already got one of those!" She winked at Winn.

Winn smiled, a little saddened. "I should let you get some sleep. You've had a long day."

Painfully Kara got up and walked Winn to the door. They stopped and looked into each other's eyes for a moment. "Look Kara. I really..."

RRRIIINNNGG

Kara ran to get the phone. "Hello?"

"I've got to take this! It's my mom!" Mouthed Kara from across the room. Kara turned, plopping herself on the couch, beginning a long conversation.

"Like you." Winn whispered under his breath. Sighing, he left the room.
