CHAPTA TEN!
--Lola--
Westley and I had a crazy night that night, and he ended up getting hungover and told me he wanted to sleep for three more hours. I headed off the to beach instead.
I always liked the beach, but today was better the most. Two boys were down the way, one of the had brought a pile of rocks from home to skip on the water. He was pretty good. I tried to get their attention by tanning near them, throwing a frisbee their direction, but nothing really seemed to work all that well. I decided to give up and wait - if it was meant to be, they would come to me.
My phone rang once, and I immediately picked it up. “Westley?” I said, picking up some sand with my fingers.
“Hey, Lola. I’m gonna leave your house,” he starts, and I laugh that he called my apartment a house. “I really need to get to Bennett Inc, so I can’t waste time. It was really nice spending last night with you, but I have to be heading off now. Toodles.” And he hung up. I half smiled at his deranged vocabulary and took a swig of my Bloody Mary.
“Oh, well,” I said to myself. “He was a hick anyways.”
“Excuse me, but you’re looking pretty damn fine today.” I look up to see the black-haired boy I had tried to attract earlier. He smiled at me, being in the position before and pulled down his glasses. “I saw you tanning earlier, and I just had to come over and talk to you. You are just too hot to pass.”
“Hitting on me, are you?” I got up from my towel.
“You want me to, I’ve seen you today. You don’t accidentally hit my friend in the head. C’mon.”
I laugh, and begin to walk with him to their collection of orange crush and towels. His friend grinned at me. “Hey! What’s your name?”
His outwardly demeanor was refreshing. “Lola Parker.”
He extended his hand. “Ralph Laurent Christoph Gaston.”
“I like it!” I giggle and turn to the black haired boy. “And you are?”
He winks. “Maxwell Bennett, baby.”
My eyes got big. Where had I heard that before?
“Wait...” I begin. “Oh, never mind. I thought I knew a Bennett.” I shake my head and grab a Crush. “You don’t mind?”
“Oh no, of course not!” Ralph says, skipping another rock. “Go right ahead.”
I chug it and make a large burp.
I see Max nudge Ralph and hear him whisper “I have a good feeling about this one.”
I quickly wrap my arm around Max and say, “What are you guys doing down at the beach today?”
“Um, just hanging out. We’re searching for a few girls, but other than that...”
Ralph coughs. “Well, we ARE searching for girls, but we already know who they are. We just lost them. Max isn’t implying that he is on the prowl for girls, because he’s not a man whore or anything like that.... BUT, wait, he’s not saying that he’s not available, BECAUSE HE IS, he just... um...”
“I get it. They’re missing.” I laugh. “You guys are too funny. You act as though you’ve never seen a cute girl before.”
“Erm,” Max blushes, seeming like he was remembering someone. “I’ve seen beautiful girls before.”
“But not as beautiful as you!” Ralph inputs quickly, putting his hands up. “You know what? No. Okay, you want to know what’s up?”
