Ezra POV
As the wound healed completely, Luna began to fall backwards. Lily and I both yelled her name as she fell. I caught her just before she hit the ground. Lily came over by my side and saw the worry look on my face. "Is she going to be okay?""Come on sis don't do this to me.", I said through the force hoping she could hear me. I was scared that she might not wake up this time. I mean she doesn't exactly know how to control this power and what if she... 'Ezra stop making yourself worried', I thought to myself. 'She's going to be okay.'
I snapped out of my thoughts when Lily asked me with concern and worry in her voice, "Is she alright?" It took a lot of courage for me to say, "She'll be fine." I can still see the worry on her face. She doesn't know Luna yet she acts like she's known her for a while now. "Let's put her on the couch, so she can be more comfortable." For a moment there she kinda sounded like Hera, but I soon agreed.
I carried Luna over to the broken couch and laid her down gently. Lily is at end of the couch making sure everything is alright. I signal her to go back to kitchen and she nodded. Once we got back there I wanted to find out more on this girl's past and who she is. "So if you don't mind me asking what happened to you? I mean why were on your own for so long?" At first she had a sad expression on her face as if she wanted to forget but she took a deep breath and start telling me the past. "It was quiet and calm here. Then all of sudden blasts were fired and screams were heard as I was hidding. Stormtroopers beat up my parents before taking them away , leaving me behind to live out on the streets."
Once the story came to a stop, I looked into her eyes to make sure she wasn't lying about any of this. A liar's eye wouldn't show much emotion, even if they're great actors. Plus they might show they're sad on the outside, but not on the inside. I felt Lily's emotions on the inside and she was completely sad and hurt and her eyes shared the same emotions.
This girl's life is similar to mine and Luna's, odd yet intersting. Although I can't help but feel sorrow that the Empire ruined someone's life again. They ruined my life by taking my parents away and separating Luna and I. Then they took away Lily's parents at a young age. Wait does she know what happened to her parents?
I decided to ask her in a gentle manner, "I know it's not my place to ask but do you know what happened to your parents after they were taken." She didn't answer me right away and I could tell she was trying to hold back the tears in her eyes. "Lily, you don't have to answer that if you don't want to.", I said very sincere. She took a breath and replied, "They died. A week after they were taken. I saw it for myself."
I was shocked to hear her say that. No kid that age should have to see their parents end. I put my hand over hers which was on the table and said, "I'm so sorry Lily." She looked at me with a sad look and said, "It's funny. At that age you'd think everything bad that happened was just a dream. That in the morning you'd wake up in your bed with your parents downstairs and everything goes back to nomarl. Days pass and you begin to lose hope that it's a dream and you soon realize you're parents aren't coming home. They're dead and there's nothing you can do about it."
What she was saying was true. I mean I don't know if my parents are dead or not but back in those days I believed that one day they'd come back. That Luna and them would come back through the door and things would go back to normal and it would be okay. Now here I am. Sure I have Luna back and I'm greatful but I still wish my parents were still here.
Lily looked back at me and smiled while she said, "But as you grow older you have to look the bright side of things and make the best of the situation. Like you stole from this guy and you didn't get caught." I laughed at her comment. "Now that is some great common sense.", I said. It was her turn to laugh and I was happy to hear it. She might of had a bit of troubled past but it's amazing how she puts things on a positive note. Kinda of like what I had to do when I was on my own.
I suddenly felt something in the force as if someone was waking up, I can see in Lily's face that she feels it as well. She's definitely a force sensitive, I have to get her back to Kanan. I turned around to see Luna sitting up slowly. "Nice of you to join us.", I commented with a smile. She rolled her eyes but manages to smile on her face. Luna was about to get up but she was a bit wobbly so I came over for her to lean on as she walked over. "Don't force yourself okay.", I told her. "No need to be protective Ez. I'm okay.", she says.
We get to where Lily was and she just stared smiling at us. "You two are lucky.", she says. Luna and I looked at each other in confusion and she asked, "How?" Lily looked at us like we were crazy enough to not know the answer but she answers, "You two trust each other and have each other's backs. Not to mention you have others to back you up. That's really hard to come by now a days." I never really thought about it, I mean yeah a lot of people are on their own or in their own groups of people. But not all of them are as close or connected like us on the Ghost.
"Back then when I was separated from Ezra, I found it hard to trust anyone because most of the time you'd find yourself in danger. But when I found him and the crew I realized not everyone is dangerous or cruel. They are people who care for you, but there's just not a lot.", Luna said. I look back to days where I was on my own. In the streets I would always be pushed around or given death threats by others. On the Ghost you would only be threaten by pranks or by doing extra chores. You would feel anger and hate on the streets, on the Ghosts you'd feel happiness and sometimes love. You don't get those feelings from other people often. "I guess we are pretty lucky.", I said as I wrapped my arm around Luna. I looked over at Lily who was wiping tears away from her eyes. She saw me and said, "Sorry. I just get emotional sometimes." Luna and I smiled at her and I used my arm to let her know to come join in. She comes in close enough for me to wrap my arm around her as well. I felt her tensions come down as soon as she entered the embrace. "I just wish I can say the same for you kid.", I said. She looked up at me and said, "I'll be okay. I just have find away to surrive somehow."
I looked back at Luna and she already knew what I was thinking. Once I let go of everybody Luna and I looked at Lily and I started the talking, "Lily what if you didn't just surrive." She looked at me with confusion but I continue by saying, "What if you could also live?" The whole thing was getting to her and she seemed a bit interested in what I meant. Luna then began to speak, "You can come back with us and join out crew. Know what it feels to be apart of something again. Wouldn't you like that?" As we kept talking, Lily seemed a bit skeptical about the whole thing. "I don't know.", she said. "You said it yourself. There's not a lot of people who are like that now a days. You don't have to be afraid of something happening to you if you come.", I said.
She was thinking about it for a while. Time passed and she soon answered our question with a smile, "I'll come with you guys." Luna and I smiled, we were just so ready for her to meet the others. Maybe soon enough become close friends, but I have a feeling we are already there. "We should start moving. The activity should be quiet now." Both girls nodded as we were getting ready to head back to the Ghost. To head back home.
