"Wow, you are a v-vampire" I giggle.
Grayson nods, "Now that I told you about me, your turn"
He smirks and scoots closer to me.
I sat criss-cross on my bed across from Grayson.
"Well, my name is Misty Leanne and I have my mother and my brother. I am 16 years old. My dad died two years ago. I am homeschooled and I don't have any friends. I don't really socialize" I say.
Grayson nods, "Nice"
I giggle, "Not as exciting as being a vampire"
He chuckles, "Well, it's not that exciting" he says looking down.
Grayson lifts his head and furrows his eyebrows, "Would it be- never mind that was a really bad question"
"What? Just ask me"
"Would it be okay if I asked how your father died?" He gave me a concerned face.
"No, no it's fine. They don't know how he died. He was ripped apart by some animal. No one knows" I say.
He nods, "I am very sorry"
I smile, "It's fine, really"
"You said you have a brother?" Grayson asks.
"Yeah. Danny. I call him asshole though" I laugh.
"Does he hurt you?" Grayson shifts.
"Well, sometimes. Only when he's drunk or high...which is a lot I guess" I say looking out the window.
"He shouldn't-"
Grayson was cut off by a loud slam.
I jumped off my bed and walked over to the door.
"Who's-"
I put my pointer finger to my lips, signaling Grayson to be quiet.
I put my ear to the door and listen.
I hear loud footsteps trumping down the downstairs hallway.
"MISTY! GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!" I heard Danny shout.
"Is that him?" Grayson asks getting up.
"Yeah, just be quiet" I say.
"MISTY!" Danny shouts once more.
I bite my lip as I hear him tromping up the stairs.
What do I do?
"MISTY!" Danny shouted again, this time it was right on the other side of my bedroom door.
"Get under the bed!" I whisper shout to Grayson.
Grayson ignored me and jumped in front of me.
The door swung open and Danny stood in the doorway.
"Who the fuck are you?" He hisses at Grayson.
"Who are you?" Grayson asks.
"I ASKED YOU FIRST!" Danny shouted.
I could see Grayson's hand balling up.
"I am Misty's boyfriend" Grayson says.
