When You Run Away From Home (on hold)

Chapter 16

Jamie's P.O.V. :

After I get ready I walk out to see Logan all dressed. He has car keys in his hands.

"I put our stuff in the car. It's parked downstairs. Anna and Destiny are in there and Destiny is still asleep.", he informs me.  I nod and we walk out the door.

The car was a 7 seat-er and the ride was silent. Logan told Anna to fall asleep and she knocked out immediately. I didn't say a word not wanting to disturb the two sleeping girls in the back. I was in the front with Logan who was concentrating on driving. I decided to take a nap to kill time since I couldn't  carry a conversation with anyone.

"JAMIE!", I heard someone yell. My eyes shoot open as I take deep breaths. I look to see Logan on my left looking at me.

"JEEZ Logan you almost gave me a heart attack". I sit up and rub my eyes. We are in front of a gas station.

"Anna and Destiny woke up. They were hungry so we stopped here. Do you want to go buy something?" Logan asks. I nod and he hands me a 5 dollar bill.

When I walk in a bell rings. I look for Destiny and Anna. Anna is looking at chex mix and Destiny is talking to some guy. Whoa whoa whoa.

I walk in between the two and break up the love festival.

"Hey Destiny we are going to get going right now so....."

"Umm ok. This is Chase. He is really nice and he lives around the area where we are going to stop, Dontcha Chase.", Destiny says excitedly, giving the boy googly eyes. 

Chase nods and holds his hand out for me to shake.

"No thanks. ", I murmur.

There was an awkward silence.

"Well Chase gave me his number so he can show me 'the ropes' to the new town.'', Destiny says smiling.

"Nice", I say sarcastically.

"I would really like to get to know you guys better but I have to get on the road. Long walk.", Chase says walking away. Destiny practically yanks the guys arm off.

"NO! you can ride with us. We have this really nice car and there is Plenty of space.", Destiny says nodding. She looks at me to reassure the guy and and I join in on the nodding.

"Yeah plenty of space. Well Destiny lets get some more snacks before we ask Logan" I say. Destiny agrees and we pick out some snacks.

After paying we walked to the car.

Logan gave Chase a weird look and scrunched his nose.

Destiny walked up to the car window and began to talk .

"Logan this is Chase. He lives in the same neighborhood  as us and I was thinking since we are still an hour away that.... maybe....... he could ride with us?, Destiny asks.

Logan is silent for a while.

"No. Get in the car Destiny.".

Destiny looks hurt and gives Chase a hug whispering in his ear. Chase smiles. WHAT IS THAT GIRL TELLING HIM! Chase whispers back and she blushes.

"Destiny, car, NOW", Logan says.

Destiny flinches and walks into the car and Chase walks away.

"I'LL CALL YOU!", Destiny yells.

I roll my eyes and Anna and I walk into the car too.

Once we arrive to the house I was shocked about how nice it was. It has to have at least 7 bedrooms.

"Destiny you shouldn't be talking to guys. I saw the way he was looking at you.", Logan says with clenched fists.

"What's your problem were just friends.", Destiny responds walking away.

He grabs her wrists and turns her to face him. She winces in pain because of his strong grip but it doesn't loosen it only tightens.

I walk up to them trying to pry his hand of her arm.

"Logan, let her go.", I say.

He turns his face to me and I see the anger in his eyes and then turns back to her. I let go and step back.

"He wasn't looking at you as a friend. What did you whisper in his ear that made him smile. HUH?", he spits. Destiny remains quiet.

"That's what I thought now just go find a room and stay in there. ", He continues. Destiny snaps.

"Listen, you are not my dad. You can't tell me who and who not to hang out with. If I want to hang out with a guy who I like, I can.", Destiny says.

He quiets for a second then lets go. Destiny rubs her wrist walking away.

"jerk", she says to him.

He walks up to her again and grabs her wrist.

"WHAT DID YOU CALL ME", He yells in her face.

"a jerk", Destiny responds looking at him blankly.

He loses it. He raises his hand in the air.

"NO LO-"

I was cut off by the smack that his hand made hitting her cheek. He lets go of her immediately realizing what he did. Destiny is on the floor crying with her hand on her cheek. Anna walks to her to aid her and I walk up to Logan.

He begins his apology walking up to her.

"Destiny I don't know what got in-" he begins but I cut him off and out my hand on his chest pushing him back.

"I think you need to step out for a while", I say looking him in the eye. I can feel the hatred that are in my eyes as he walks out of the door hands in his hair.
