Chapter 9

Audition.

     Kkrrinnng!!

I must get up! Today's the audition day!

I want to desperately play that lead role of being Romiette. I swear I'd get it!

When I heard the alarm clock rang, I immediately ate my breakfast, took a bath and ran to school. What was I running for? I don't know either. I wasn't even at myself at all. Yes, I was physically present in all my subjects, but I was mentally absent. I wasn't even able to do the seatwork our Math professor gave us due to over excitement. I can't wait till the bell rings.

Calculus was our last subject before clubtime starts, and not doing my seatwork hasn't helped me at all.

The bell rang and we were obviously dismissed. I was already prepared to go out of the room and head to the auditorium. "Wait class. before I dismiss all of you, I want to know who has not submitted their paper? I have only counted 34 papers. Meaning, one lazy student has failed in following my instructions." And the moment I heard that, I regretted not doing my seatwork.

All the other students left the room, including Aly.

"You will be timed, Miss David. You can start as soon as you receive your paper. You can't leave any items blank or unanswered. Please use black inked pen." He handed me the paper and I quickly started trying to solve the shit. Functions?! Derivatives?? Oh no..

     My mind was blank. Crap.

"Low, low, low d-high minus high d-low." My bald professor kept on singing those words on the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat". Okay? Shut up, bald man. I am trying to concentrate here! And I promise I know how to do derivatives.

"Heyya. It's really so nice to sing songs about the quotient rule!"

And he was talking to himself.

     What the holy mother-fuu...

Thanks sir! Finally, I knew what to do with the paper and I passed it to him as soon as I was finished with all the items. I stood up and gratefully, I smiled at my professor. And I think he uttered the words "You're welcome," as I ran towards the door.

     Breathe in. Breathe out.

     In-hell. Ex-hell.

I fell in a long line with other girls and boys who wanted to audition for a role, too. I want the lead role. I'll get it. I don't care if I audition last or if the audition gets cut. I'll audition no matter what.

Has it been an hour already??

Ugh. My legs are getting tired. Could they be any slower?

At last, I was the next one to audition right after that blonde boobie lady on the stage. I was watching her act in front of the judges. I can feel her awkwardness fill her body. She was nervous. And if my guess is right, the audiences watching the audition felt her cold feet, too.

"Please sit and wait. Next!", shouted Megan, uhh. I mean Rebecca.

     It was my turn.

"Hi. So I am Kylie Davis. A junior.", I introduced myself.

"So.", Megan Fox was scanning papers. "Read this line and try to act it out."
