Bane's Battle

Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana
Wally's POV

"So, babe-"
"Don't call me that"
"Well then, Artemis, we need to go to the warehouse across the lake"
"I know, Wally, I heard already," she snapped.
"Jeez, is it that time of the month? Why are you so cranky?"
She smacked me on my head and grumbled, "You wonder why you don't have a girlfriend, Baywatch. You don't say that to a girl."
"Sorry," I said rubbing my head.
"Just, come on... Wait how are we going to get across the lake?"
"Super speed, baby... I mean Artemis," I answered back with confidence.
"How will running help us get across a huge lake?"
"If I run fast enough I could walk on water," and with that I picked her up bridal style and started running. We went across the water at high speed, damp air pushing against my skin and making it a little wet. Artemis was holding on for her life slightly choking me, but her arms were around me I wouldn't bother to say anything.
We were back on ground and I just kept running.
"Wally, we're on land... You can let me go now," she coughed awkwardly.
"Oh, okay," I said as I let her down gently towards the ground.
We saw the warehouse and walked towards it. While Artemis snuck in through the back, I went through the front. When I went through the window and fell on the ground I looked up.
"Lost?" Bane snarled with Artemis in his arms ready to twist her neck.
"Let her go, or else,"
"Or else what?"
"Well I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise would I?" I stalled.
I ran at him with all the force I had when all his goons shot at me. One hit the back of my leg and I screamed in agony.
"Help! Bane has Artemis and I've been shot! Someone help!!!!!!!!!"
Artemis then took a knife from her belt and jabbed it into Bane's stomach. He pulled it out and growled louder and louder as he got angrier.
"You think you can hurt me?" he scolded.
He threw Artemis across the warehouse and she hit the wall I was closest to. She was unconscious.
"I let her go Flash... or should I say Kid Flash... You do fight like one," Bane mocked. "See, when I was a kid I was in prison." He then jabbed the knife into my side. He continued," I didn't get the loving peachy life normal kids get growing up," he said while twisting the knife around.
"Ahhhhhh!!" I roared.
"I was born in jail, you know that?" he continued, "My dad, King Snake, ohh, he will be proud."
"You will be sorry when I'm done-"
"Oh, I'm never sorry," he smirked. He pulled the knife out then jabbed it back in. I roared, screamed, hollered, anything to signal my friends I was in pain when the door busted open and more goons entered. He then kicked my ribs which you could hear all the bones break and he threw me against the wall landing on top of Artemis. I rolled off her body on to the cold hard ground.
The goons that entered had a body in their hands, Aqualad's.
"Robin, Zatanna, Superboy, M'gann we've all been captured help!"
I tried to focus my mind onto Artemis and cried,"Artemis wake up! Wake up, please! I need you! Wake up!!"
I saw her hand move. She flinched back and reached for her bow and arrow. She shot one at Bane and he caught it in his hand.
"Missed me," he mocked her.
"No I didn't," she muttered with all her breath she had left.
The arrow exploded in his hand and he then knocked out. All his goons started surrounding us so Artemis shot more arrows that contained foam to lock them in place.
None of the goons could move and Bane was unconscious. Artemis and I still could barely move and Aqualad was passed out.
"Good job Arty," I whispered. "You deserve a reward."
"Don't worry I have one in mind, Kid Idiot," she addressed.
She wrapped her arms around my neck, came closer and started kissing me. I was shocked at first, then I started kissing her back. She had very soft, sweet tasting lips that sent shivers down my spine. She started moving her hands down and out of nowhere ripped the knife that I totally forgot about in my side.
"Ow, what was that for," I howled.
"I heard you heal fast, and you needed a distraction," she explained.
"Not that fast and it might get infected," I fretted.
"Well what do you want me to do, put it back in?" she argued.
"Here she goes again," I mumbled under my breath. "What was that crybaby," she badgered.
"Nothing"
She took off one of her compression sleeves.
"What are you doing?"
"Wrapping this around your leg?"
"For what?"
"For this," she said as she ripped out a bullet from the back of my leg.
"Owwww!!! Why did you keep on doing that?!"
"I need to stop the bleeding."
I looked back up to her when I saw Bane moving.
"Oh shit! I totally forgot about Bane! He's waking up!" I told Artemis.

How was this chapter?
Sorry if it was short, but got to admit it was kinda action packed. For those who were shocked, yes Wally swore. It's okay guys, he's 15. Some kids these days start swearing in elementary school.
Well anyways, hope you liked the story. Please give me feedback. I don't really know how long or short a chapter is to you guys or if you'd like me to change something about the characters.
