Who Says We Have to Play Fair

October 11, Mount Justice
Zatanna's POV

Yesterday was one of the most amazing day in my life. I got to meet soon-to-be-friends (I hope) who are also part of the Young Justice Team that I will become apart of in the future. Last night I moved in then dozed off. I hope today will start perfect just as yesterday was.
I threw on a purple tanks top, pants, and some shoes. I then brushed my teeth and hair and now heading to the kitchen for breakfast. On my way out my bedroom I ran into someone.
"Owww," a soft voice said.
I looked up and began,"Good morning Robin, I am so sor-"
"Don't apologize, it's my fault for not noticing you. I mean I do notice you, you're very pretty... I mean your not pretty... I mean you are really pretty just not-"
"It's okay Robin I forgive you," I finished off.
I tried to hide my blush that was budging into my face, when I realized Boy Wonder was too.
I walked to the kitchen to see Artemis and Wally sitting down eating breakfast.
"Wow Wally, why are you up so early?" Robin asked curious to why the all day sleeper was up at eight o'clock.
"Uhhh," he paused looking at Artemis," just wanted to get an early start on breakfast," he answered.
"Zatanna want some eggs or pancakes? There are still some left from me and Wally," Artemis suggested very nicely.
"Oooo, I love pancakes. Yes please," I sat down next to Robin who had a bowl of cereal and thanked her. I started eating my food when Artemis and Wally left together.
"Are they a couple?" I asked Boy Wonder.
"Uh, no, not yet," he mumbled focused on his breakfast.
"Are you in a relationship?" I accidentally blurted out.
"No," he lifted his head up and looked at me, "I do have a girl on my mind though."
"Oooo, does Batman know?" I desperately asked.
"He'll find out soon," he answered annoyed.
"What's wrong? Am I being too nosy?"
"No it's just Batman gets in the way of any relationship I could have. He doesn't really know the concept of me liking someone. He always has something bad to say about them or that they will distract me."
"My dad's the same. One time my dad turned my crush, which I don't even now how he found out about him, into a frog."
"Oh, that's pretty harsh," Robin chuckled.
We where both laughing for a while when we heard an announcement.
"Team, new mission, Bane and his goons have broken out of Belle Reve and you have to keep them from destroying anything," Batman announced.
Robin quickly stood up,"Zatanna stay here. Your dad will get mad if you get hurt."
"No, I'm not missing the first mission I encounter. I don't care what my dad says," I argued.
We both ran into the bioship. Everyone excluding Robin was confused as to why I was there.
"Why are you here? Get back to safety," ordered Aqualad.
"No, if there is a mission, I'm not just going to sit around being a useless person that could help defeat crime," I clarified.
"I like this girl, Kaldur. She has a lot of confidence. She can help," Artemis chimed in.
"Very well," Aqualad concluded.
I sat down between Artemis and Robin. "Thank you for standing up for me, Artemis," I praised.
"It's fine, when I first entered into the team a few weeks ago it was very awkward. Now I'm very comfortable and glad I stayed," she finished.
The rest of the ride went by a few minutes then orders were given out.
"Artemis and Kid Flash search for Bane in the forest. M'gann and I will take the back of Belle Reve. Superboy take the front, and Zatanna and Robin go inside and make sure no one else gets out," Aqualad stammered.
"I set up a link. Zatanna this may hurt at first. I'm going to access your mind, so we can transfer messages mentally from large distances," M'gann explained.
I felt a sharp pinch in my head that went on for a few seconds and then I spoke through my....brain???

"Ow, that hurt," I complained.
"I warned you," M'gann stated.
"I guess I didn't know it hurt that bad."
"Well, thankfully it only happens the first time. So, if you need to communicate with the whole team just say your thoughts inside your mind and everyone will hear," M'gann vowed.
We then all went to our positions.
Belle Reve
"So, Robin, I was wondering if maybe later you can help me practice some more spells," I suggested.
"YES!!! I mean yes, I can," he replied.
We were walking around the jail when we saw one of Bane's goons head into a room.
"Ahhhh," a high pitch voice screamed.
Robin and I both ran to the room and saw a lady getting pushed down on the ground.
"Tell me where the control panel is before you get even more hurt, hun," the goon demanded as he held a gun up to her head.
Robin threw a batarang at the gun. It slid across the room leaving the goon bare handed.
"teg eht namow ot ytefas," I hissed.
Since there is not really any place she could go, she just teleported behind me.
"That's not fair," the goon grunted.
"Who said we have to play fair," Robin sneered. He then gave him a few punches. "Where is Bane?" he growled.
"Why would I tell you?" the goon replied.
"Because I said so! llet su erehw enaB is!" I declared.
"He's in a warehouse across the lake.," the goon confessed quickly covering his mouth.
"Now let's see if you're lying," Robin snapped.
"Artemis, Wally, Bane should be in a warehouse across the lake," Robin told them.
"We are on it," Wally replied.
