Chapter 9 - The Last Shall Be First - Part 2

Tad appeared at the entrance to the town. He looked over to his left and saw a sign. "Welcome to Gravity Falls, Weirdest place in America."

"My kind of place." He smirked. As he marched on, more and more shadows appeared behind him and charged past. He kept his slow pace while his minions covered the major ground in charging speeds.

The shadows lunged at anyone in the streets and held them down harshly on the pavement. They broke into every building, doing the same to everyone else.

"Listen up! This town is under my control! And once I get my hands on the communication array at the Mystery Shack, the entire universe will be mine! No army can stand a chance!" He roared.

Behind him, a few more shadows dragged Zak's and Rory's bodies along. He looked ahead at the hill leading up the mountain where the shack would be.

Kai ran with Markus up another hill that lead to his family manor. As they turned the corner quickly, they collided with a few other people and all fell over. Kai rubbed his head and looked up at Violet, Samaera, and the triplets.

"Guys! What are you doing here?" Markus asked.

"We were looking for you guys! What were you doing in the town?" Violet asked turning to Kai.

"Markus was getting the super suits for us." He said.

Markus blushed as he held out the folded suits to everyone. There was enough for everyone, even Samaera got an extra. They didn't say anything as they grabbed the suits and turned them on.

"I didn't realize it would come to this. These have never been tested." Violet said.

"Well they shouldn't have to be. They match each of our strengths and amplify them. We can help our parents fight." Markus said.

They all climbed inside the body suits as they lit up different colors. Samaera seemed pretty happy with her suit's choice of color, silver. "Now what?" She asked.

"Now we head for the shack." Violet said. "Let's move!"

Markus and Kai lifted their swords and lead the way as everyone else followed.

The helicopter landed in front of the manor and as before, Dipper was first to jump out. He ran inside to alert everyone.

Wirt stepped out and admired the enormous house. "He lives here?!" He asked himself out loud.

"Must have a big family." An agent butted in.

"Just prepare the chopper. We might have a few more passengers." Wirt said.

"Yes, sir." The agent saluted briefly and started folding seats down inside the cabin.

"What do you mean they left?!" Dipper nearly yelled.

"I-I don't know! They didn't tell me where they were going!" Ty said.

"Tyrone! Our kids are out there! Have you seen the town?!" Dipper snapped.

"Hold on! They could just be in their bunker!" Pacifica stepped in.

"Where's Kronos?" Candy asked.

It had slipped his mind. Kronos literally disappeared back on the helicopter. Dipper blushed as he was trying to think. "Where is my husband?!" She repeated.

"I'm here." Kronos answered appearing in the doorway. Behind him was a fit shirtless man with thick black hair and large black wings protruding from his shoulder blades. "I was getting an old friend."

The man stepped forward. "Sorry this is all so sudden. My people had only heard rumors saying Tad Strange was back."

"Oh yeah! You're that angel guy from the Demon War." Pacifica pointed to him.

"Yes. My name is Reese. We met for a short time before me and my wife had to leave. I'm afraid that's happened again. The angels are rarely summoned to earth. Such events were when Bill nearly transformed Earth into his own dimension, and when his brothers tried to do the same." He said.

"How do you know Strange?" Dipper asked.

"Well, his story is also what made Bill Cipher and his brothers names to fear. They attacked the heavens long ago. I was just a boy then. But I do know that Tad was the most fearless, the most horrifying, and the most destructive demon. He would not stop pushing his limits. Killing countless people. His own greed for power nearly destroyed him...that is until we learned he escaped and somehow came to earth." Reese explained.

"Thanks, Mr. PlotDevice." Ty said. "Now how do we stop him?"

"The same way you'd stop any other demon, a whole lot of luck." He said folding his arms.

"Oh! Question!" Mabel said. "Why are you not wearing a shirt?"

"Uh...Angels don't need much when it comes to covering our wings. We almost use our wings more than our feet. But do not worry! We cover up anything humans would consider 'awkward'." He said.

"Why are we wasting time? Tad's almost to the shack by now!" Dipper snapped. "And our kids could be anywhere!"

"Here. We shall split up. Me, Pacifica, Candy, and Tyrone will go out and search for the children while the rest of you go out and stop Tad Strange." Mermando insisted.

"No." Ty said. Everyone turned to him. "I'm not going to do anything until I know where my wife is."

"Same with me." Wendy added. "Except he's my husband."

"I'm sure they're fine. If anything, they'll be where Tad is." Candy said.

"Then it's settled, me, Ty, Mabel, Kronos, and Wendy will go out and defend the shack. The rest of you find our kids." Dipper said.

"Let us go now." Reese instructed. They all ran out but Kronos hesitated and pulled Candy aside.

Without a word, he put his lips to hers and pulled away after a moment. "I'm sorry. Once this is all over, I'll give you the greatest anniversary date ever." He whispered.

"You don't have to apologize....But I might still hold you to that." She said with a smile. "I love you."

"I love you too.....More than death could break." Kronos said with a smile.

"Stop getting all poetic on me and go slay that demon." Candy smirked and lightly pushed him towards the door.

"Oh ok! Bye!" Kronos said as he was pushed out the door.

Everyone still inside looked at Candy. "I feel bad for Kai. How PDA are you two around him?" Pacifica asked.

"Never enough." Candy admitted with a blush.

Kronos rolled his eyes and hopped in the helicopter one more time with everyone else ready. "Where do you guys all come from?" Wirt asked.

Reese was first to answer. "A world of angels."

"Demon spawn turned guardian angel." Kronos said.

"Lumberjack club." Wendy said.

"....Piedmont." Dipper and Mabel answered last in unison. Everyone chuckled a little.

"What have I gotten myself into?" Wirt asked himself with a shrug.
