Lunch Time

After three of my classes, I have lunch. I make my way to the cafeteria, and, of course, Dean is by my side. The two of us get split up in the hallway, but I continue walking. I go to the line and then, all of a sudden, someone wraps their arms around your torso. I turn around, ready to punch whoever it is in the face, and see that it is Dean. He smiled and just stared at me in the eyes. I realized how green his were. They were like bright, shiny emeralds.

I turned back around and grabbed my food. I noticed some people staring and whispering. I went through the rest of the line and went to sit at the table I always sit at, alone. I sat down and Dean sat next to me.

I started eating and after I took a drink of my water, Dean asked, "Do you have a boyfriend?"

That was sudden, I thought, as I was trying not to choke on my water. "No, why?"

"Well, I kinda like you, like a lot, and I was wondering if maybe you would want to come over for a little while after school. I know that you just met me and all, but you could help me with homework." he said in reply.

I had to think for a minute, but responded with, "I don't think I am doing anything, so sure."

"Cool, but just so you know, I am kinda living with my uncle right now so his house might be kinda messy." he said nervously.

"That's fine," I said.

And as soon as I said that, Sam sat down and gave Dean a look like he knew that he liked me.

"Ryleigh is coming over after school, so don't bother us. Oh, and you will have to help Bobby today." Dean said to Sam.

"But I helped him yesterday, and besides, it's not my," Sam said. then he looked at me, and back at Dean and gave him a "you know what I mean" kind of look.

"I know but please, Sammy. Just this once?" Dean begged.

"That's what you said in the last town," Sam retorted.

"Should I come over today, it seems like you guys have some stuff to work out?" I asked cautiously.

"Yes. He will be fine, and we can hang out." Dean said motioning toward Sam.

Sam rolled his eyes and left it alone.

We all sat in silence and finished our lunch. I didn't because I didn't usually eat a lot. The bell rang and Sam went to his class while Dean and I walked in silence to ours. I noticed a lot of people staring, mainly girls, so I grabbed his hand. He looked over at me and grabbed mine back. He was the only person in months to make me genuinely smile.
