Maria
After I had my full day of classes with some pretty interesting teachers, I headed back to my dorm. I went up the pink stairs, in the pink halls, with the girls with their perfectly painted pink lips. God I hated this dorm.
As I walked into my room, I was greeted with a new face. She looked a bit lost and looked really different from anyone else here. She had a scene-like hair cut and really pretty eye makeup."Hi," she's says "I'm Sammy. I'm new here and I guess I'm your roommate."
"I'm Maria. Wow you're so pretty!"
"Thanks. But I'm nothing compared to you. You're eyeliner is killing it!"
"This is going to be a beautiful friendship Sammy."

Sammy and I just sat there and talked for hours. Soon, it was 6, and I knew I had to go meet Derby.
"I hate to cut this short, but I have to go meet someone, I'll see you later."
"K. I better finish unpacking lol." She says, looking at her luggage.
"Later Sammy." I say walking out of the room. I headed out of the girls dorm, and to the beautiful Harrington House located on out school grounds. I see a big guy standing in front of it, dressed like Derby.
"Name?" He asks me, like a bouncer.
"Maria Hernandez." I say, unsure.
"You can go in." He states, as he opens the door.
"Thank you." I say as I walk in. It's even more beautiful on the inside. I walk into the big, main room to find Derby talking to his friends. He turns and smiles when he sees me. He walks towards me like how a guy does in a bar when he sees someone he wants.
"Hello Maria. Glad to see you decided to come and see me."
"Well unlike yesterday, you asked today. So I'm here."
"I'm glad about that. Take a walk to the roof with me. It's nicer up there." He says, placing a hand on my back and guiding me upstairs.
God was this house beautiful. It was full of expensive things and furniture. I wish I could live here.
The view of the school from the roof was quite beautiful. Derby had something interesting to tell me if he's bringing me way up here.
"Maria, I wanted to bring you up here because there's something I think we should talk about."
"What is it Derby?"
"I care about you. I know who you were with yesterday. And it makes me upset to envision what would happen if you kept it up. I care about you in a lot of ways."
"Derby it's my decision who I hang out with."
"But Maria he's bad for you! He's no good! He's just greaser Scum! He's below us Maria!"
"I don't care. And plus, I wasn't even hanging with him. I was hanging out with Christy when I bumped into him. We aren't even friends." I lied.
"Really?"
"Yeah. He's probably just a jerk. I can't believe you thought I was like that, Derby." Where was this coming from?
"Oh. I'm sorry Maria. I shouldn't have freaked out on you like that." He said, sitting down on a bench.
"It's okay, Derby" I say, sitting next to him.
"You want to know what else I wanted to do up here?"
"What?" I say looking at him.
Just then, he leans towards me and places his lips on mine. He uses his hand to lift my jaw towards him. Crap. What do I do? This is my first kiss... I never thought it'd be Derby. Oh god.
And then I hear a clicking sound. I see one of derby's boys holding a camera towards us. In a reaction, I run towards him and chase after him. Nobody can see that picture. He runs out of the Harrington House, and I follow him. Except I just fall and bury my face into the ground instead of continuing to chase him.
"Are you okay?" A deep, 50s sounding voice says.
"No. Everything in my life just went down in a spiral." I say, starting to get up. Johnny helps me up.
"You wanna come with me to the shop? We can talk there." He offers.
"Yes please." I say, tears forming in my eyes. Johnny leads me to an area right across from the Harrington house. There was a large gate with a sign above it that I couldn't read. In there, were bunches of boys with leather jackets. Johnny lead me through a door, and in there were tons of cars.
"This is were we keep them before we work on them. But there's usually nobody in here most of the time so this is the best place for us to talk. What's up, beauty?" He says, looking me in the eyes.
"I'm so lost, Johnny." I say, beginning to cry. "I don't even know why I'm crying. I just feel like I just am having things fall apart in front of me. And I just want to fix it. But I don't know how. Derby is just such a bad person sometimes."
"Whoa, what did he do to you?"
"Well we were talking and then he just started lecturing me about how I should stay away from you and one of his little friends took a picture. It probably looked like we were dating or something. He is probably going to make sure everyone sees it. And I don't want people to think I like Derby when I like someone else." I explain, with tears rolling down my face.
"Well who do you like, Ria?"
"You! I like you! Who else would I be into?" I say, raising my voice.
"Good, does that mean I get to show Derby that you like me?"
"No! You can't! I don't want to have to deal with him Johnny. I just want to stop crying." I say, grabbing his hand.
"Okay, I can help with that." He says, as he slides down the wall. He holds out his arms and I sit in between his legs and let him hold me.
"Thank you Johnny, for not trying to do anything and for just holding me right now." I say as I try to calm down.
"Don't mention it, beauty. It's the least I could do." I hear him say.
I begin to doze off in this position with him, it's pretty comfortable after all. I feel my eyes close and just fall asleep in Johnny's broad arms, with a small smile on my face. Thank you Johnny.
