Auntie Laura died of cancer. I was 17. They never told me that she was ill. My heart broke into pieces. She was the only person who loved me for who I really was. At the funeral there were zo many people, and they were shocked when my mum told em that I was trans. Shit mum shut up!
"He is my brother, and nobody can call him trans. He has always been a boy to me and to Ashley."
My lil brother Riley was always defending me.
"Thank you Riley."
The next day, Lizza texted me.
[Y u not here with us?]
[Because my Auntie Laura died. And I was at her funeral yesterday.]
[Oh. I'm sorry. Comin at u after school.]
She was completely and madly in love with me. And I loved her too.
I had an enormous pizza for lunch.
"Having a great meal Thomas?"
"Yes mum, thank you."
"What happens? Talk to momma."
"I miss Laura. Why didn't you tell me that she was going to die by cancer?"
"Because we didn't wanted to make you suffer."
"But I'm suffering anyway."
Someone rang our doorbell.
"It's Lizza, can you open please?"
"Of course."
She opened the door, then Lizza came to me. We kissed each other, and I saw my mother smiling. Lizza went to her.
"Mrs. Foster, I think that your son, Thomas, needs to tell you something."
I was surprised, I didn't know what I had to tell. But then I remembered.
"Mum. Don't hate me. While I was in Canada, I did the penis surgery. So now, I am a real man."
She suddenly hugged me.
"I'm so proud of my man."
That made me happy.
