Adam's POV

We finally re-grouped and mutually decided to head back to the hotel. We did need as much rest as we could get, tour was a beautiful but draining thing. Harlow walked back to the hotel with Breanne who seemed to have let everything blow over. But then again, I imagine it's pretty hard to stay mad at Harlow.

Daniel and I walked side by side in comfortable silence. I could tell he knew something was wrong. But he never pressed me about it. Or anything for that matter. I valued that quality in him. He knew that if I had something to say, I would say it. It complimented my introversion. I found it immensely difficult to talk to people about how I was feeling, so I poured everything into my music. Its always been that way and I don't see that changing.

It was killing me that I didn't know how Harlow was feeling.

Did she still like me?

Did she ever even like me?

Did she really want to kiss me?

Does she want to be with me like I want to be with her?

Should I say something?

Tell her how I'm feeling?

Is it too soon?

If I leave it too long will her feelings change?

Was she even thinking about me?

Sometimes I wished I didn't have to go through all this alone.

We reached the hotel and Daniel walked me to my door.

'Get some rest dude, I'll see you tomorrow' he smiled sympathetically and patted me on the back.

'Thanks man'

With that I nodded him off and slipped into my room.

It was going to be a long night.

The little white numbers in the bottom right hand corner of my mac read 1:13am.

I knew as soon as I retired to my bed I wasn't going to get any sleep.

I was working on a song I had written when I was feeling a little brighter. I just couldn't finish it.

My phone buzzed on the bedside table breaking the deafening silence that grief creates.

*New message from Breanne*

'Hey Adam. It's Harlow. You awake?'

My heart fluttered.

'Yeah cant sleep. May I ask why you are on Breanne's phone?'

*Sent*

*New message from Breanne*

'Uh, you never gave me your number. Jerk.'

I grinned at her bold humour, quickly reciprocating it.

'You never asked for it.'

*Sent*

*New message from Breanne*

'Excuse me for thinking the dude is supposed to ask for the chick's number'

'When you're as bad at interacting with females as I am, it doesn't tend to work out that way'

*Sent*

*New message from Breanne*

'Yeah you are pretty bad at girls'
