*BLAKES GRANDPAS POV*

Blake and Amy have managed to get Blake's new horse into riding condition but Blake still has a long way to go on him but he's run out of time tomorrow is the rodeo and Silverado still cannot be ridden his tendons just got worse despite Blake's care. The vet said he will make a full recovery in time but he can't be worked. It's up to Blake to pull him and Kaleb to win their first rodeo back. I can tell he's nervous and so is Kaleb but I know in my heart they'll pull it off. I'm taking Blake's uncle with me so I can have either somebody to celebrate or cry with right now it can go either way. Blake and Kaleb load the horses and close the trailer, and we are off. I wave by to my wife as I drive off and I look in the rearview mirror and I can tell Blake's down in the dumps he wanted to ride his first rodeo back with Silverado. The boys both have their phones out so there's no point in talking to them. I just drive Wyoming is a long ways away from Alabama.

I take a look back and Blake's out I laugh at him all knocked out against the window I sware that kid can sleep anywhere if given the chance. I just keep driving and driving until finally I reach Wyoming. Its been a long drive but those boys need to practice Blake and Kaleb are not going to win if they don't. I know they want it but they also know with Blake's new horse they have a chance but not a very good one. I pull into the rodeo grounds and Blake and Kaleb perk up real quick. I look in the rearview mirror as they are getting out. I put the truck in park and turn it off getting out. Blake's unloading Aerosmith and Kaleb is unloading his horse Shorty. I walk up to them

"Boys tack up you all need to practice if you two have any absolute chance of winning tomorrow."

They nod their heads and get their saddles out of the trailer tacking their horses up after they finish Blake ties his rope up on the saddle and jumps up on that horse. They walk to the arena watching their competition practice until it comes their turn they ride out into the arena and Blake is as calm as Kaleb is I figured he would be a bundle of nerves being here. Aerosmith is calm and collected like any good team roping horse should be. Blake being the header he tips his cowboy hat and the choute operator lets the cow go I look at the clock and the horse Blake ropes the head perfectly with no fits from the horse he pulls to the left and Caleb ropes the feet and they
finish the clock reading 2.134. I'm extremely happy that they managed to pull off a good time Blake sure has trained that horse to the max. They go back into the choute and this time I can tell from Blake's face that he is not messing around anymore. I look around and laugh at the look of shock on all the adults faces. Blake and Kaleb continue to surprise everyone with their skills. I let them practice for about another thirty minutes before I tell them to go cool the horses off.

They leave the ring and then they tie the horses in the trailer. I turn to Blakes uncle and say.

" I guess they're going to pull it off after all huh?" He nods his head in response and we walk to the trailer. I look over Blake's new horse and he doesn't look that bad Blake and Amy sure have worked that horse hard over the last couple of weeks.

*BLAKE'S POV*

I walk to the other end of the truck and text Meghan.

Hey, how is the last day before break going?

She reads it and soon my phone vibrates almost making me drop it

Good but I miss you. How was the trip up there?

Decent, I miss you too but I'll be home soon.

I know babe it just I want you hear now mckala won't stop glaring at me like she could eat me or something.

don't worry baby she's harmless. I type back and lock my phone slipping it into my pocket. I'm so ready for some more sleep but I very seriously doubt that will happen.

Kaleb walks around the truck texting Tessa more than likely. He locks his phone too and he both breathe really heavy at the same time.

"It feels so weird being here again, it feels weird knowing tomorrow is the first time I'm rodeoing in over a year."

"I know exactly how you feel. I never thought I would ever experience this again but I'm glad that I am."

"Me too." I say walking back to the horse trailer to get the rest of the crap out of the back. I get out my back up saddle, reigns and everything else Aerosmith needs. I look at the clock to see that is only 4:30. Just then my dads truck pulls up and he gets out.

"I thought I would come to see you back in action and get accustomed to this again."

"Cool you staying here until tomorrow?"

"Yeah son I am." I wonder if grandad knows He is here? Who am I kidding he more than likely set this whole thing up.

The day soon turns into night, and we all sit by the fire talking about anything and everything and listening to my uncle and granddads old rodeo stories. I hope one day I'll have those to tell to my family. I eventually fall asleep texting Meghan. My alarm goes off at 7 the next morning, I stretch and wake Kaleb up. We both walk out knowing that today is the day that we really need to make count.
