"Hey, Kailey."
"Nick? Where are you?"
"Look down," Nick says, and I look down to the floor only to see, well, the wooden floor.
"Er... Nick, unless you're hiding under my floorboards, I don't see you at all."
"No, dummy, from the balcony!"
"Ooooh," I had forgotten I had one of those.
Looking down from the 3 story drop (thank goodness I wasn't afraid of heights) I see Nick standing, waving up at me. Waving back, I also noticed to coastline behind him, which was where my gaze drifted to.
"Kailey! Come on down here, it's awesome! The shore is to die for!"
Quickly changing into a light blue halter bikini, I grab a towel from the convenient butler who happened to be waiting outside my door. I pull a pair of sunglasses out of my only halfway unpacked suitcase, and rush down to the elevator. One awkward wait later in the elevator, with the WORST elevator music ever playing if I do say so myself, I pulled my shades on and rushed out of the plush lobby to greet Nick, who was now lounging in a lawn chair near the beach. Upon closer inspection, I noticed he had on a white tank top and navy blue swim shorts on.
"Hey, Kailey!"
"Hey, Nick. You were right - this shore is beautiful. I think I am going to just lay here and soak up the sun for a few minutes..." I drift off, closing my eyes to the warmth.
A few minutes later, a feel a very wet pair of arms lifting me up princess style pulling my sunglasses off, and carrying me to the coastline. I look up, and see Nick's face grinning down at me.
"Nick!" I yell, "Put me down! Nick!" I slap his back, trying to get him to put me down.
"Okay," he simply says, before...
I emerge from the surface of the water, completely drenched.
"Nick!" I yell, "What was that for?!"
"You looked way to comfortable just laying there," He says, shrugging.
"Yeah, and now I'm not, no thanks to you!" He just shrugs again.
So, in the midst of things, I decide to splash him, which turned out to be a huge water fight that consisted of dunking, splashing, and basically anything we could think of to get the other person more wet. We ended up being the last ones at the beach, and it was dark when we finally got out.
"You know, they really should have a night lifeguard on duty."
"Yeah," I agreed, tossing Nick an extra towel I grabbed from that butler.
"Thanks," he said, drying off. Seeing his tasseled hair that made him look even cuter, I couldn't stifle my giggles, "What? Oh, you think this is funny? Yeah, how 'bout now?" Nick teases, shaking his head like a dog to spray water all over me.
"Nick!" I yell.
"Kailey!" he mimics in his best girly voice.
"Oh, I so do not sound like that!"
"Yuh huh!"
"Nut uh!"
"Kailey," Nick says, suddenly serious.
"Nick?" I ask, equally serious but very confused.
Suddenly, he steps closer to me, looking down into my eyes, and the next thing I know I can feel his breath on my nose.
"Is this okay?" he asks, sounding worried about my answer.
I nod, and the distance between us slowly closes, and his lips are on mine. He gently kisses my lips, and pulls back before I know it, way to soon. He then silently takes my hand, entwining our fingers, and walks me back to the hotel.
A/N: Yay! Nick finally kissed Kailey! Sorry I haven't updated in a while. I was seriously debating whether or not to continue this story. The awesome new book cover really motivated me! I will dedicate the chapter to her, because I forgot her username at the moment *smiles bashfully* I have to go now, but I will update soon! Comment, vote, and fan! Pic on the side is Nick :)
