Chapter 5 - Almost Lover

"Kailey, will you be my girlfriend?"

"Yes!" I shout in delight.

Fingers entwined with Nick's, we walk down the beach.  My life couldn't get any better.

"Nick, I'm going to my room.  I need to practice for the big piano recital."

"K, sounds good.  I'll meet you up there in about 30 minutes or so, I'm probably going to swim for a bit."

After changing into some comfortable lounge clothes, I decided to enjoy the view for a few minutes to calm myself down before practicing.  I saw someone familiar in the distance.  Was that... no, it couldn't be.  But it looked like her!  It was!  It was Emma.  Emma had a thing to go out and kill me, she hated me that much.  I didn't do anything to her, but she hates me.  She is what you would consider the 'queen bee' at our school.

That's when I saw Nick walking toward her.  Naturally, they chatted for a few minutes, and I swear I saw Emma look up at me and raise her eyebrows before leaning into Nick and kissing him.  If that wasn't bad enough, he kissed her back.

Tears streaming down my face, I ran away from the window and into the music room.  I needed to get these feelings out.  I can't believe Nick would do that!  I thought he was different! (A/N: Press play on the video now!)

As I finish the song, tears streamed gently down my face.  No.  I was not going to cry over him.  He can kiss who he wants.  I wiped my tears.  I could move on.  I would move on.  I sang the last verse one more time, to clear up my tears.
