Part 10: A Perfect Chance

“Sis, eh eto? Ano sa tingin mo? Mas bagay kaya to?” Yeng asked her as she tried on every blouse that she has in her bag.

“Okay.”

“Okay?”

“Maganda.”

“Huh? Puro okay na lang ang sagot mo. Teka lang, kanina ka pa puro iisang salita lang ang sinasabi. May problema ba?” Yeng asked. She noticed that since they went back to the room, she had been extremely quiet.

“Wala, napagod lang siguro ako. We did a lot of things kanina. Tara na, alis na tayo. Di tayo pwedeng masyadong gabihin sa pagha-hike di ba?” Sarah said emotionlessly and stood up from the bed. She then went down, with her mini-back pack with her, and outside where Sam and Mang Tony’s son (who would be their guide) are waiting for them.

“Ay... Ano’ng meron? Parang kanina lang ang hyper pa, ngayon, lantang gulay lang ang peg?” Yeng wondered to herself. She then followed her outside and saw that everyone is ready.

Sigh...

This is the nth time that Yeng let out a sigh. Their hiking adventure was extremely and unusually quiet. She noticed that the two barely talk and would just automatically talk whenever she would direct a question to them.

“Sis, tingnan mo don oh. Ang ganda ng burol.” She enthusiastically pointed out.

“Oo nga.” Sarah answered her without giving much of a glance to where she pointed at.

“Kuya Sam, naka ready na ba mga tent natin sa beach and ang bonfire?”

“Yes.” Sam answered.

Kuuuu! Mauubos na pasensya ko sa dalawang to... Patience Yeng, patience! Yeng muttered to herself.

Once they get to the clearing where they would rest for a while and enjoy the sceneries before they head back to the beach resort. Their guide was busy roaming around. Seeing the two will not really talk, and getting bored herself, Yeng stood up and said to the two,

“I don’t know what’s going on. Pero pupunta muna ko don sa may sapa. Please lang, kung ano man ang problema nyo, pag usapan nyo. Kanina ko pa napapansin na wala kayong kibo pareho.”, then she walked away from the two.

“Sis...” Sarah tried to call after her. She felt guilty that she hasn’t been a good companion for the last hour or so. When she saw that Yeng is determined to leave them alone to talk, she sighed. Kasi naman, I really don’t know what to say to him after that... that kiss. Nahihiya ako na ewan. Hindi ko naman magawang magalit, dahil, dahil... Nagustuhan ko rin naman yun? Aaaaayyy! Ano ba pinag-iisip mo dyan. Kasi naman, di siya mawaglit sa isip ko kanina pa. Hello? First kiss ko kaya yun! I can’t explain the feeling. Basta! Now, I don’t know how I would act around him. I don’t know as well if makakalimutan ko ever ang kiss na yun. Ni hindi ko nga alam kung ano’ng meron samin eh. She bit her lower lip again as she thought about it.

“You’re biting your lips again.” Sam simply retorted.

“Huh? What?”

“You’re doing it again, you’re biting your lips again.”
