"Hey mister!" A pair of big violet eyes stare down at me as I begin to wake up. "What are you doing sleeping in the cows' food like that?"

"S-Sorry..." I sit up, leaning on my one good arm as I end up being a bit shorter than the orange-haired girl.

"What's your name?" She immediately asks, as if eye contact gives her permission to bombard me with questions.

"Link." I answer as I struggle to bring myself to my feet.

"Can I call you Grasshopper?" She immediately asks. I give a questioning glance as to where she comes up with this random nickname before nodding. I fall onto my back once again after trying to get up, my injuries reopened from my attempt. "Grasshopper! Are you alright?!"

"Y-Yeah..." I grip my open stab wound on my stomach as blood leaks through my tunic and drips onto the ground as if the wound was newly inflicted. Consciousness slips from my grasp moments later.

My eyes open once again to fuzzily see a woman who looks awfully like the one that had dubbed me 'Grasshopper' from what I recall. "How are you feeling?" She puts a rag on my forehead.

"Alright..."

"Something did quite a number to you, that's for sure. My name's Malon. The little girl who's been on my back as to whether or not her new friend 'Grasshopper' has woken up yet is my daughter, Romani."

"I'm sorry for sleeping in your barn... I probably got blood everywhere on the hay in there." I apologize as I sit up in bed, causing the rag to fall from my forehead and onto my lap. Malon takes the pillows from behind me and stacks them up so I can use them for support. She sits in the chair next to me.

"It's alright. The hay was soiled anyway."

"Where am I?" She looks at me with a bit of a baffled yet intrigued look on her face.

"You just showed up here in the middle of the night, deciding to sleep in my barn and yet you had no idea as to where you where staying exactly? Then again, I suppose you were injured so where you slept might not have been your biggest concern... You're at Termina's one and only Romani Ranch." She says with a grin.

Shit... I'm in Termina. If any soldiers come to the ranch then they'll arrest Malon and her little girl for treason. I need to leave as soon as I get my strength back.

"'Grasshopper'?"

"Hm?" I snap out of it.

"Sorry... I don't know your name. Is something wrong? You looked a bit worried for a minute there."

"My name is Link. It's nothing. I just felt a bit lightheaded." Her concerned look fades back into a gentle grin.

"Alright then Link, I'll get you something to eat... Of course you'd be lightheaded with how much blood you've lost. I'll be right back." Malon stands up from her chair and then leaves the room, the door cracked open still when she exits. The crack becomes wider and wider as a familiar face peaks in.

"Grasshopper! You're awake!" Romani opens the door completely as she walks into the room to take her mother's seat. "When you passed out in the barn I got scared and yelled for Momma. She had me help get you here and then she called the doctor. He said you were probably a soldier from the looks of your injuries. Is it true? Are you a soldier?"
