Joey's POV
I guess in that moment, we didn't really think of the consequences of spraying champagne all over each other. My hair was clumped together and my suit was stained by the liquid. Daniel and I both looked identical in that way. We got back to the hotel room and immediately ran into the bathroom.
"Do you wanna get in the bath with me?" Daniel asks, winking. I smirk.
"Of course," I respond, slowly taking off my blazer and pants.
By the time I'm standing in my underwear, Daniel already has the jets going in the bath and he stands beside it, completely naked. He slides into the bathtub and I gulp, watching him as he smirks at me. I slide my underwear down my legs and climb in with him, sitting in between his legs. My head leans back against his chest and I feel him shift to get comfortable.
"Well, that was fun." Daniel says, talking about the previous events that took place.
"Yes, yes it was." I reply, setting my hand on his thigh.
"I know this isn't the time or place, but what exactly happened with your mom? You don't have to tell me, I'm just concerned." Daniel says unexpectedly and I tense slightly. He seems to notice and he begins rubbing my shoulders, immediately calming me.
"Well, she got into a car accident because she was drunk. I thought she was doing better. But I guess not." I sigh, remembering the night a few days ago when Daniel and I told each other about our childhood. (This wasn't in a chapter.)
I don't look at him, but I can tell he's nodding.
"I'm sorry, Joey. I know it's hard, but it will get better. I promise you it will. I'll be with you through it all. You can always count on me. I will always be there." He finishes, combing his fingers through my hair. I turn around to look at him, his eyes glistening.
"Thank you, Daniel. I really couldn't ask for a better boyfriend." I smile, giving him a kiss on the lips.
