*6 MONTHS LATER*
"Next!" Billie sighed as the quivering actor stumbled out the door, soon to be replaced by another. She looked over at Allysa and April, the two casting directors, along with JJ and the main executive producers who had the same look on their face.
The six of them had spent 3 months trying to cast the perfect Kirk, but to no avail. Billie had started to get desperate, and they were looking to the far corners of the Globe to find the perfect James T Kirk.
She looked at the name of the next actor on the list, Chris Pine. Billie had seen some of his movies, he was a good actor, maybe this could be it.
Chris walked in and Billie couldn't help but stare.
"Hello Mr Pine, I am JJ, the director, along with the casting directors Allysa and April and my assistant director Billie." JJ also introduced the producers but Chris had his eyes on the assistant director. She had light brown wavy hair that cascaded down her shoulders like a waterfall, and bright green eyes like freshly trimmed grass.
She looked over at Chris and raised her eyebrows, almost as if she was daring him to stare. He focused his attention on the director, who began giving him instructions. He was given a script with about a page or so of lines.
Billie watched as he spent a few moments assessing the lines, before nodding towards JJ, who looked towards her.
Billie began reading the lines of the character she was supposed to be playing, and watched carefully as Chris delivered his. Happiness flowed through her body as Chris smirked, digging into the character of Kirk, and becoming the character he was supposed to be.
After Chris left, the group of six looked at each other with huge grins on their faces.
Finally, they had found their Kirk.
~
"Mr Pine?"
Chris slowed down when he heard his name being called. He turned to see the assistant director, Billie.
"Yes?"
"I just wanted to let you know that you got the part. You were by far the best Captain Kirk, besides Shatner, that we had ever seen." Chris smiled and nodded, thanking her.
"JJ will contact you with details later on this week. I'll see you around." Billie turned around and jogged away, her hair swishing across her back.
Chris turned and started walking again, and he smiled as an image of Billie flashed across his mind.
He liked her already.
~
"So it's Anton Yelchin as Chekov?"
"Yep."
Billie sighed in relief and slumped into a chair, running a hand through her hair.
"The bridge crew is complete." April laughed and shook her head.
"We've barely started the process Bil, we still have to cast the rest of the characters, finish the script, get some more crew and actually film the damn movie." Billie groaned and slumped down even more in her seat.
"This is a lot harder than I thought it would be."
"Ready to give up already?" Alyssa chuckled, walking over from the other side of the room.
"Don't worry, we've cast most of the characters, we just need a Pike and a few more extras. JJ and I will be going to some more Pike auditions this afternoon, and we think we've found the right guy anyway." Alyssa explained.
"I'm not giving up this early, in fact I plan to not give up at all." Billie stated, standing up again.
"Come on, we need to organize a table read for the main characters."
~
Billie fidgeted nervously in her chair as more and more incredible actors filed into the room. It was a few months later, and the movie had been cast, and the script written, although they were still making changes every day.
They were about to start a table read, and Billie couldn't have been more excited.
As the last few actors seated themselves in various places around the room, JJ stood to grab everyone's attention.
"Good morning everyone, as you all will know by now, I am the director of this movie. I have here with me today, Billie Clyde, my first assistant director, we will both be assisting with the table read today."
JJ continued to ramble on about the importantness of this read while Billie scanned over the table of actors. She recognized some of them, such as Simon Pegg and Zachary Quinto, while there were many unfamiliar faces. Billie hadn't been present for all the casting decisions, as she had had other places to be. She had missed the Sulu, Nero and Uhura casting finalizations, and had still to meet the actors.
She looked over at Chris Pine, who was staring intently at her with his piercing blue eyes. Although he quickly averted his gaze when he saw Billie had spotted him.
"Billie?"
"Mhmm?" Billie turned to JJ, who was looking at her expectantly.
"Are you even paying attention Bil?" JJ asked in desperation, causing a few of the actors to chuckle slightly.
"Well I was, until Mr Creepy Blue Eyes over there started eye raping me. I would like to let him know now that I don't tolerate unwanted eyes roaming my body thank you very much, and your famousness does not boost any opportunity of getting into my pants." Billie smiled over at Chris who shook his head in disbelief.
Everyone turned to look at Chris before Simon began giggling. Soon enough, everyone was in fits of laughter.
"She flattened you Chris!" Karl snickered, slapping Chris on the back.
"Alright alright, settle down everyone one, enough excitement for now." Finally everyone settled down and they began the table read, although despite the explicit warning he had been given, the whole time Chris could not keep his eyes off Billie.
