"I haven't cared about anything in centuries."
Klaus knew he was lying. Elijah knew it too. Klaus has cared before. He even felt love, the truest form of love. A love you share with the right partner.
And she was mine.
For nearly a century he hadn't heard anything from her. He thought she was dead, so he moved on. But with every woman he had been with intimately – she was always there. Either in the back of his mind or within the woman he was with. Caroline shared her feisty sarcasm and determination, even the ability to make Klaus smile. Hayley had her fight and as well as a way to make Klaus feel uneasy.
But none of those women were her.
Klaus felt anxious walking the streets of New Orleans. It was not the threat of the witches nor the threat of Marcel's band of night walkers. It was the fear of seeing her. A century changed you. Klaus knew he had turned into a monster when she was gone. He didn't have anyone, so he made sure that no one could get in again.
Ever since Katerina's letter to him, mentioning Alexandria was here, alive. It made Klaus feel something he hadn't felt in a long time.
Yearning.
He wanted her, more than anything he wanted her by his side. To feel her bare skin against his; to see her sweet smile. Klaus smiled to himself, remembering her smile always made him smile. The sweet smell of her hair and her perfume. It reminded Klaus of the times they'd spend days in their bedroom at the Plantation. He would paint and she would read her Gothic romance novels. He would glance over to her to find himself admiring her. He use to paint her whenever she was reading, that was really the only time she would stay still long enough for him to paint.
He felt an ache in his stomach just thinking about her. How she would laugh, how she would smile, how she would love and care for others and how she would make him want to be a better man - just for her.
His beautiful estranged wife.
Klaus felt his chest clench. He leaned against the nearest wall and took a slow and deep breath. All these thoughts made his head feel like it was going to split in two. "Stop thinking for God sake, Niklaus." He muttered to himself. Klaus sighed deeply, slowly feeling the numbness take over again.
Klaus lifted his head up high, that's when he saw her.
Alexandria.
She was exquisite. Her blonde waves flowing with the wind like the ocean. Klaus found himself enchanted by the sight of her smile, it was loving and full of joy. A small smile formed on Klaus' cold face. Her contagious smile always made everyone else smile.
Alexandria was talking to someone, looking behind her. Marcel was standing there.
Klaus growled quietly under his breath. He knew that Marcel and Alexandria were not lovers; Marcel always saw her as a mother. His Mére as Marcel put it when he became comfortable with her.
Alexandria became his mother and he was her son.
"Don't talk to me about Original vampires. I have had my fill for a bloody lifetime." Alexandria muttered with annoyance. "Elijah wants me to babysit the girl that Klaus shagged and knocked up. Like 'oh hey, I know I haven't seen you in a hundred years but do you mind babysitting this girl that your estranged husband knocked up?'." Alexandria laughed without any sense of humour. "I haven't seen him in over a hundred years. Why the hell would I babysit his spawn's mother?"
Marcel let a loud sigh. "You're hurt by this?"
"Yes I am. He doesn't bother to come back here to see if I am alive after what happened but shags wolf girl and Elijah expects me to give in when he mentions my past?" Alexandria scoffed angrily. "Yeah I'm hurt because I wasted my bloody life loving a man that pretends I don't exist and shags every woman he wants. I hate him. I'd rather see him suffer then help him with his spawn."
Klaus clenched his jaw and looked down to his feet. I should have saw her, before all of this. I should have come back. Klaus thought to himself.
By what he had heard. Klaus knew Alexandria did not want him anywhere near to her. She was happy. Without him. He was fooling himself if he'd thought that Alexandria will come leaping into his arms with the love she once had for him.
But he couldn't let her go, but he could drink her away.

Hayley Marshall sighed to herself. Who did I get myself into this mess? She thought to herself, staring down at the cup in her hand. One big gulp and it's bye bye baby. I can do this.
"I can do this." She muttered to herself. "I can do this." Hayley held the cup firmly in her hand. But could she do it?
Hayley mentally slapped herself. She couldn't raise a child with witches threatening her, she wouldn't. She wouldn't let a person like Klaus Mikaelson raise her baby, she couldn't imagine the asshole Hybrid raise their baby to be normal and not psychotic.
"Come on Hayley. One upset stomach and all this stupid drama is ancient history." She said to herself, lifting the cup to her lips. A sudden noise caught her attention. She stood up, seeing a man in front of her, his vampire features showing. He ordered her to come with him, claiming it was a dumb move to come into the Quarter.
Hayley felt a fire inside of her rise. She felt a surge of fight inside of her. "I have had it up to here with vampires telling me what to do!" Hayley snapped, throwing the content of cup into the vampire's face. She turned to make a quick exit, only to see to other vampires in front of her.
Suddenly, they both fell to the ground. Hayley looked up, seeing a small brunette holding the two hearts in her hands. The smirk on her face was identical to Klaus. The devilish look in her eyes however, was entirely different. The woman dropped the hearts carelessly onto the floor. Hayley was stunned.
Who is this woman and what the hell does she want with her?
The woman let out a soft sigh before smiling to Hayley. "I suspect you have questions on who I am, why am I here and better yet, why did I save you. But, however, we need to get your pregnant arse out of here." The familiar British accent slipped elegantly off her tongue. Hayley stood where she was, not knowing whether to trust this woman or not. "Listen, you could stand here all night and wait for the band of night walkers to rip your head off, tie a bow on it and give it to Marcel or you could follow me to safety where frankly, I need a bloody drink after the long car journey I have had." The woman ranted, keeping a cool look upon her face.
"At least tell me your name first." Hayley said, trying not to sound demanding of the woman that had just saved her life.
"Lynneesha-Anne Mikaelson, but I prefer Lynn."

A/N: I finally introduced Lynneesha, yay! Thank you to the darling Amirah for allowing me to use her character. I'm so excited to write her into the story, and yes she is going to play a major part into the plot.
As always, this chapter will be edited soon. If there is any spelling mistakes or grammar mistakes, either comment (but nicely) or private message me. I hope you are okay and I will be hopefully updating soon. Thank you so much for reading!!
