After the game Peyton sat beside me on the couch.
"Hey Row,"
"Row?"
"You don't like it?"
"No actually I love it but why a nickname?"
"I give all cute girls nicknames,"
"I'm cute?"
"Row, you're adorable,"
"Thanks Pey,"
"Pey?"
"What you don't like it?" I said mimicking him.
"Pey is the best name I've ever heard besides Rowan Eleanor Blanchard,"
My cheeks were so red. He offered to drive me home and I said yes.
In the car it was silent.
"Row?"
"Yeah Pey?"
He handed my his phone.
"Do me a favor and put your number in?"
I felt weak as he looked directly in my eyes. I realized what was going on and made him face the road.
When I got home I thanked him and ran inside up to my room.
Immediately i got a text from a random number but it was labeled "Pey" so he must've snuck on my phone and put it on.
Pey: Hey Row
Row: Wow you're fast
Pey: Excuse me for wanting to talk to you
Row: I'm sorry. Mom's making me get off. See ya tomorrow
Pey: aw ok bye

The next day Peyton and I were called in for a meeting with the directors. Nervously, I walked in the room to see Peyton and the writers waiting for me.
"Ah, Rowan. Glad you're here. Please sit."
Peyton looked at me smiling. Smiling back, I sat beside him.
"So, Rowan, Peyton. Our Rucas fans are dying for a kiss. We think the ratings will raise if you two kiss."
"Oh." Pey and I said in unison both with wide eyes. A smirk grew on Peyton's cute face. Wait what?
"I understand it will be awkward but we need this kiss to boost ratings. Okay?"
"Ok," We said. Peyton just smiled looking at me as my heart was pounding and my face was tomato red.
We walked out and Peyton suddenly pulled me into his dressing room. It had a couch bean bags and a flat screen tv along with a closet and dresser.
"I think we should practice the scene from first date."
"Like practice kissing?"
"No. But I mean practice the scene,"
"Oh okay sure!"
"Ok." We pulled out our scripts and I began.
"You know those moments that you were talking about that you're going to remember forever?" His eyes. Peyton's green eyes. I was lost in them.
"Yeah?"
In the moment, I did want to kiss him. But I knew I couldn't.
"Good job Row,"
"Thank you. You weren't so bad yourself." I giggled.
"Wanna watch a movie?" It was late in the day and I was stressed. I didn't even notice that I drifted off.
