Hello

87 5 4

Sometimes I wonder about you
Your the person that sits alone at lunch
Your the one I pass in the halls on the way to class
Your the one who goes unnoticed
Your the one with the scars.
Your never smiling
I've never even heard you speak
You don't raise your hand in class
In fact,
Others hardly know your there
But I do
I wonder why you sit alone
Why you don't smile
Don't talk
What happened to you,
What made you feel this way,
What made you close up,

I am quite the opposite of you
I'm always in a group of people at lunch
I'm always smiling and laughing in the hallways
I'm the first one to raise my hand and the last one to put it down
You might not realize it
But inside were not all that different
I, like you, am almost always insecure about myself
I might not show it,
But I'm hurting too
I cry into my pillow at night too
Soft, quiet, built-up sobs
The kind no one can hear
I listen to people talk
I pretend I don't care
I laugh it off pretending it doesn't bother me
But it does

It bothers me that people do this
Spreading rumors
Classifying us
Excluding us
Because we're different
Yet we are all the same
We have the same feelings
Same emotions
Same hurts
Why do we hurt others
For doing what we do as well
We hurt others for feeling things we don't feel
Or for wearing something that we don't wear
Or listening to a different type of music than the rest
We hurt others for these reasons all the time
I noticed it
And sometimes
I wonder
Can I make a change
One person among millions
Could I start a movement
Could I change the world
Well I'm going to start with you
With one word
