She tried to ignore the laughing
The teasing
But she couldn't
Everywhere she looked
There they were
Talking behind her back
Or worse
Telling her to her face
Saying she was ugly
Stupid
That they were better than she
She couldn't find peace
She couldn't remember the way it felt to be happy
To be loved
She couldn't escape the prison
Their words had put her in.
