Fantastic.
Oh well, enjoy a free chapter.
I struggled to fit one last (f/c) shirt into my already stuffed suitcase.
"Oh, c'mon, Rose. Don't laugh."
I hear see her failing at an attempt to stop laughing at the amount of stuff I was bringing.
I shifted my eyes to her side of the dorm. I could tell she was scrolling through something on Cetus, though she was paying more attention to what I was putting in my suitcase.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Trying to avoid my mom on social media."
Since when does she... never mind.
I mentally noted how bare my half of the dorm was compared to hers. The only things that remained in mine were some sheets of discarded Polaroid film on a table next to a bed that was bare except for a pale (f/c) sheet.
In Rose's half, various knitting utensils and an assortment of purple clothes were strewn about, along with an unkempt bed and various Fluthlu posters (what even is that thing?) in odd places on the wall. I could have gone about the condition of the area for a long time, but time was not one thing I had to spare.
I strained to zip the suitcase and shoved it out the door, calling to Rose, "I'll be going now!"
She jumped up from her laptop, skittering down the hall after me and replying, "Wait! I'll drive you to the train."
(A/n): No not "train" as in "Thomas and Friends," "train" as in "subway."
"Well, you can't exactly drive me all the way there, but, alright."
I slowed down and allowed her to catch up.
She pointed out the fact that shoes would probably be helpful.
Right.
I looked down at my bare feet, realizing that I packed all of my shoes in my suitcase.
Because I'm a genius. (No offense you probably are really smart, most people just don't think of themselves so)
(--__Le time skip brought to you by Dave in a leotard__--)
I shoved my suitcase into the back of Rose's purple 2001 Toyota Corolla, then closed the top back and got in shotgun. I instantly questioned my sanity of when I had agreed to riding in her car. There was Starbucks trash literally blanketing the floor and other than that it looked the same as her side of the dorm, save for the bed and posters and added some Fluthlu dolls on the dashboard. I couldn't tell whether or not that was a snow globe under the purple sweater in the back seat.
I buckled my seat belt and pulled my legs up to my chest, not wanting to get my (f/c) shoes soiled by the various litter in the floor.
I listened to Rose ramble on about some platinum blonde guy (SHIP) and how she was sure that he was hinting at asking her to Starbucks... (I looked down at the floor and then back at her, trying not to categorize her thoughts as wishful thinking)...
Rose achieved the world's worst reverse parking and then stated, "You have reached your destination."
I rolled my eyes and said, "Bye, Rose."
She waved lazily as I unbuckled my seat belt, popping the door open with my other hand.
As I retrieved my suitcase out of the back, she called out,
"Tell me if you see my friend John!"
I nodded as the car sped off.
I pulled out my (phone type) and plugged in my earbuds, placing one in my ear and letting the other hang from the cord so that I could still hear around me.
The song that happened to play first was Marry Me by Train.- which was ironic in two ways that you fail to notice somehow...
I smiled as I walked down the stairs into the subway station. I bought my ticket and then sat down on a bench, having an odd feeling like someone was watching me. I shrugged it off, along with the strange familiarity the song held for some reason.
After a few minutes my train arrived, and by then the song had changed to the Glee cast addition of Don't Stop Believin'. (Oh the train irony)
I was only half paying attention to where I was going because I loved the song too much (If you don't then well you are missing some key story line), so when I was boarding the train a man bumped into me, causing me to drop my phone and jerk the earbud out of my ear (ow!).
I cringed and picked my phone up off the floor, dismayed to see a giant crack across the screen.
I tried not to scowl and sat down just as the train was taking off. I put the earbud back in to receive glitchy, high-pitched static. I yanked the earbud back out and looked around to see if I could identify the man who made me drop my phone, then realized that I had barely even seen him out of the corner of my eye. I tried to shrug it off and stuffed the phone and earbuds into my pocket.
