Well, it turns out that it wasn't really that simple. First of all, I had little about the memory that I actually knew. Second, my attempt to coax it out of Tavros at breakfast didn't really come with quite the ease that I expected...
I took my seat at the island and was pleased to find that Tavros had yet again taken it upon himself to make me breakfast. I smiled shyly and took a seat at the island.
"So Tavros... How are you?" I questioned.
"I'm good, you?"
"Good."
"That's good."
"Yeah. Umm... so, about yesterday."
"Which part of yesterday?" He took a seat across from me.
"The beach, I guess."
"A lot happened at the beach."
There was a long silence.
"Yep."
"Is there anything in particular that you want to talk about?"
I took a mouthful of food, giving me time to think.
"Yes, actually."
"And that would be...?"
"What you said to me."
"I said a lot of things." He gave me a curious look.
"Yep." This is really awkward...
"Is that all?"
"Uh... no, not really."
He didn't respond this time. Instead, he just cocked his head to the side and studied my face.
"You asked me if I remembered something..."
This time, he was the one to say, "Yep."
"But I didn't..."
"Yep."
"Is it important?"
"Not if you don't remember it now." It might have been my imagination, but I could have sworn he almost sounded... sad.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
He simply shrugged and changed the subject.
"So, do you like tea?"
(-_ Le Time Skip Brought to You by Mutie (>^. •ω• .^<)_-)
Hence, regardless of whether I liked tea or not, Tavros convinced me to accompany him to The Land of Little Cubes and Tea, a small cafe that was, coincidentally, walking distance from Tavros' house.
I was hardly surprised when we were greeted with open arms by none other than Nepeta.
"Welcome! Oh, you came in at the purrrfect time! We're not to busy right now. Have any table you like."
After she disappeared back into the kitchen, I gave Tavros a look that said one word:
Why!?
He simply chuckled.
After we ordered, we sat down at a table towards the back. After a few minutes, Nepeta brought them to us, then grabbed a chair by a nearby table and sat next to me.
"So, how are you?"
"Fine."
She turned to Tavros. "She's purrretty quiet."
"Ooh, and I hear she also has ears," Tavros added sarcastically.
Trigger warning: cringe jokes ahead.
