Thank you to everyone who read the Prologue. Sorry it took so long to get the first chaptet out I'm hoping it won't take as long for chapter 2.

Chapter 1

15 years later

Alexis rushed down the stairs her strawberry blond hair streaming behind her, making a bee line for the front door shouting as she went.“ bye Dad see you later” Mason shook his head as he heard the slam of the front door from the kitchen. “When’s that girl ever going to learn the meaning of getting up on time” he muttered to himself.

Alexis pulled out of her drive in her blue Honda Jazz, not that she cared much about cars it got her where she needed to go and that’s all that mattered. She arrived at school right on time just as she knew she would; she couldn’t understand why people insisted she get up earlier. Barely taking a step away from the car when someone ploughed into her nearly sending her flying.

“Lexi you know how I’m your favourite person in the world” Alexis rolled her eyes at this.

“What do you want this time Rose” She said with a sigh. Rose let go of Alexis knowing she’d get her way. “Well you see I was kinder out all last night with you know who and...” She trailed of as Alexis cut across her. “And let me guess you didn’t to the maths questions and wondered if you could copy mine?” This wasn’t the first time this had happened Rose had been Alexis best friend since way back, but while Alexis was a straight A/B student. Rose was more of a coaster.

Rose gave her best puppy dog eyes which never failed to work. Alexis heaved another sigh.

“Fine but you know the drill change a few answers. I’ll give it to you in registration.” A bell sounded from inside so both girls began making their way in taking their preferred seats for registration. Just as they sat down a large group entered, one of its members broke away and headed towards them.

He puts his arm out using Alexis’s head as a rest before clearly saying “Hey runt whatch ya doing” and more quietly so that only she could hear “How’s my favourite human” Alexis tried to remove his arm but he was a werewolf and the Alphas son at that, so his arm was going knower. “You stupid head James what did I say about calling me runt” Laughing James removed his arm “it’s not my fault you’re so small” He joked with a wink causing the resident slut to glare in Alexis’s direction. “Oh yeah Mum wanted me to invite you over for dinner Saturday something about not seeing you in ages” James shrugged his shoulders as he walked back to his group not waiting for a reply.  

Just then their teacher Mr Cooper walked in hushing the class. Rose leaned over to Alexis letting her blond hair cover her face and whispered “so you going to go or not?”

“not like I have much of a choice. Besides I love Abby she’s like the Mum I never had and even Alpha Richards not bad, it’s just James whose a pain.”  

“  Yet you used to be so close when we were younger”

Alexis rolled her eyes at this “ that was before he turned into a giant man whore” Rose laughed at her reply, the whole school knew James reputation. “Something you wish to share their Miss Clover” Mr Cooper interrupted one eye brow raised. In her most innocent voice Rose replied “No Sir nothing at all” Before he could respond the bell sounded again and the class began to file out.

The day proceeded like any other; Maths, Biology then English, boring Alexis was glad when lunch arrived, taking a seat at her usual table. Unlike most of the other tables hers consisted of both werewolf and humans. The school its self was probably about 50/50 of each but most humans knew nothing. A divided had been formed almost immediately, werewolves keeping to themselves and humans unconsouesly sensing something off about them. Alexis had known about the pack as long as she can remember, but she still didn’t know why the packs third had adopted her and this bothered her. Mason had promised to tell her on her 18th which was in 2 months.
