Broken

She was numb, as she wandered the winter cold streets

Hurt and unseeing she stumbled and struggled

She was bleeding, yet there was no blood

Black enveloped her as she slip and slid through the icy streets

Where was home?

Pain paralyzed his body in spasms

Tears streamed his face

As the hollow ruins of his home surrounded him

Curled up against the world, his world soundless and bleak

What is home?

Tears flooded her black eyes, void of life

She just sat there listening…hurting

Her world was of no words, just pain

Listening to all, but left insignificant to all

Where is home?

She missed it all as she stood there watching

Missed the smell of her mother…of home

Hot tears raced down as she watched the man baking

Oh how she missed the world’s smells

What was home?
