We were one under the stars

Ours hearts thudding to the others beat in harmony

As we watched the night color the sky a luminous blue and violet

And as the branches slapped against each other and the wind blew around us

My hands in search of you

In need of your warmth, but only finding the chilling winter air

With a howl echoing through the night I make for the car

My heart fills with horror and sorrow, at the sight of empty air

Fear deciding to take a ride in my heart, as tears race down my face

To be left alone and cold was my fear, fear that now seems petty

I had searched and searched for my love, for you that I was sure to find

And yet you had vanished and the love soon followed

With anger pounding through my veins I had made my way home

Home had never felt much like its name, but home it was nonetheless

Tonight, however, it had a different sense of hostility

One that almost felt welcoming

As I stood frozen, I watched as what once was my heart turn to hard marble rock

You stood there proud of what’ve you done

A sadistic smile forming a bridge across your face, from one ear to the other

As my silent tears fought their way through my unblinking eyes

Their blood slowly dripping off your hands as you smile loving down at them

The howling wind seemed to sweep them up to another place

Leaving five hollow corpses, bones whistling in the wind

With a sweeping turn you intend to take your leave

And freeze at the sight of me

You smile, a sickening love in your eyes as you open your arms wide for me

And in them I run, my tears dry, my heart frozen to a crystalline perfect

Your warmth envelopes me, the warmth I sought from the beginning

And yet it was all too late for my heart has frozen over

And little do you suspect as I drove my dagger into your back

A death you so rightly deserved
