I walked into the house from dance practice, seeing my mom sitting on the couch with a glass of wine in her hand. She only drinks when she's upset and I think I already know the reason. MY FATHER! He's never home, he doesn't show as much love toward her, she thinks he's cheating, and when he does come home, he gives up a ton of money and leaves the next day. We basically see him 3 times a month. If more than that, his mistress is probably with her husband. I took my shoes off, and sat my bag by the door. I slowly walked over to my mom, and placed my arm around her taking a seat beside her.

" What's wrong ma?" I asked taking her wine glass. " Is it dad again?" She looked at me. Her eyes were blood shot red.

" Yeah. It is. He uhm called me and said uhm he wants a divorce. He said he will continue to give us money, because I have you and you are his child. I told him to keep his money and stay away from us. We don't need him." Tears rolled down the both of our faces. I was hurt, but I knew she was broken. I kissed her cheek and stood up.

" Mom we're going to be fine okay. We've been fine without him all these years. It's not like he's been in our lives. He barely comes around. Nothings going to change and we're just going to have to deal and accept it." She smiled and nodded her head.

" I know. Your right. We'll be fine. How about tomorrow we go out and do something after you come home from school." I smiled from ear to ear.

" Sounds good. I'm going to shower and stuff. I'll be down in an hour for dinner." She nodded.

I headed up the stairs, and my phone was ringing. I took my jacket off and answered it.
" Hey Jack!" I said kind of sad about what currently happened.
" It's not Jack. It's Kris." I rolled my eyes.
" What do you want Kris. I have nothing to say to you." I was pissed.
" But I do and your gonna listen." I kind of felt some type of way.
I shifted my weight on one leg.
" I don't have to listen to anything you say." I challenged.
" For once can you stop being stubborn and listen!" He yelled. I sat on my bed.
" You have 5 minutes and then I'm going to hop in the shower."
" Listen today went all wrong and I didn't mean for it to go down like that. After you left that girl was all up on me. I didn't wanna be rude you feel me so I let her talk to me. I know what you said and I ain't falling for her trap or none. Tomorrow if it make you any happier I won't talk to her, and I'll hang out with you and yo girl. You have all my attention. I also wanna pick you up and take you home." My heart smiled and my butterflies began to fly inside my stomach getting me weak in my knees.
" I guess that would be a nice way to start over." I agreed.
" Great what time will you be ready in the morning ?"
" Around 7:20."
" I'll be there around 7:30ish. Send me your address. I'll let you shower and stuff now."
" Okay. Goodnight Kris."
" Goodnight Dej." I hung up and let out the biggest sigh if happiness and relief. I quickly sent him my address and went to shower.
.
I sat eating an apple as my mom went on and on about the principal leaving a voicemail on her phone about yesterday. I heard a knock on the door. I rolled my eyes and went to the door.
" Roll them again and you won't have any!" She yelled.
I opened the door and almost fell. My butterflies came back and my knees were buckling. He was looking good.
" Goodmorning Dej." He hugged me, and in wrapped my arms around his waist.
" Come on in and let me grab my things." He nodded admiring our big home.
" Who was that talking about your eyes?" He laughed.
" My irritating mom." I locked the door.
He opened the passenger side of his Camiro and jogged over to his. He started the engine and back out of the driveway.
" What happened ? Why she mad ?" I shifted in my seat.
" Because of what happened yesterday and other stuff." I got silent, because even though he didn't really come around I did love the times he did. That's still my father.
" Wanna talk about it ?" I shook my head.
" I rather not. I don't want to get all emotional." He looked at me, and grabbed my hand with his right hand.
" I'm here to listen and support you okay. I won't judge or anything."
" Well my dad is divorcing my mom and he won't be coming around anymore. I mean be never really did. We only saw him like 3 times a month to give us money and leave again. My mom is really going through it. You should of seen her face last night." I wiped the year that fell.
" I'm really sorry to hear that, but if you need anything you know I'm hear for you. No matter how big or small. Okay. Cheer up. You have all of us around you to turn to. Your not alone."
" Can't turn to everybody. People aren't who they really seem to be. They'll leave as fast as they came." I went for the door, but he stopped me.
" Think positive." I nodded.
We both hopped out the car, and walked through the gates together. Of course Cassie was there waiting for him to walk through. When she seem me with him, she rolled her eyes.
" Hey Kris. I waiting at the gate for you." She smiled showing the lipstick marks on her teeth.
" That's coo." He replied dryly.
" Wanna hang today at..." He cut her off.
" Nah I'm good." She looked at us both and stormed off.
