CHAPTER FOURTEEN: Mom?
"Sometimes you have to stop being scared and just go for it. Either it will work out, or it won't. That's life."

Faced with the possibility of getting shot, Luna surprisingly didn't feel any fear for herself. She wasn't scared of dying, resigned to the idea that fate was fate, and if Matt killed her, there was nothing she could do beyond the grave.
But she was scared for everyone else and she didn't want to be the one that led Matt anywhere near them. But even with her heels dug into the carpet, she was no match for him. He still had his height and weight to his advantage.
With that in mind, Matt roughly grabbed hold of her upper arm, the cold barrel of the gun still pressed firmly against the side of her throat for good measure. He bodily shoved her through the hallway until they reached the Sheriff's office. Through the window, Luna could see that Stiles' dad was the first to notice them.
Following his line of vision, Scott and Stiles turned to face her as well and as soon as they realized what was happening, Matt pressed the gun harder against Luna's skin. She flinched a little but it was enough of a jolt to make her understand the unspoken cue.
With her heart pounding in her chest, Luna turned the doorknob, practically yanking the door open as if her life depended on it. Which it probably did.
Stiles, Scott, and the Sheriff all locked eyes with her, a mixture of concern and apprehension etched on their faces. The Sheriff slowly rose from his seat, his eyes shifting to focus on Matt alone. He was obviously trained for hostage situations and, from the open way he was standing with his chest and arms out, Matt knew it too.
He rolled his eyes and shoved Luna to the side. It was enough force for her to stumble and half hazardously catch herself on the wall.
Both Stiles and Scott looked like they wanted to help her but Stilinski raised a single hand to stop them.
Meanwhile, Matt took a seat, seemingly at ease in the midst of the chaos.
"Matt, it's Matt, right?" the Sheriff began, his voice calm but firm, attempting to reason with the disturbed boy. Matt only nodded, his grip on the gun loose and careless over the trigger. "Now, whatever's going on. I guarantee there's a solution that doesn't involve a gun."
A chilling smirk played on Matt's lips and he kicked a foot out to stop Luna from moving to join the others. When she tried again, he kicked her harder in the ankle.
She faltered with the hit and took a step back where Matt wanted her. It was a scary show of physical aggression, but honestly, she was more upset over the idea of a new bruise forming. She already had to deal with the ones from the bookshelf, if there was another on her pale skin she was gonna cut a bitch.
