Chapter 22

[Silverhawk's POV]

"Just touch the stone with your nose!" Doveflame told me. I obeyed her quickly and touched the Moonstone with my nose.

My eyes closed and the world went black. I couldn't move at all. I felt my life being ripped away. I guess then I was going to get my new nine lives. I wasn't sure if I was ready to be a leader or not. I had barely been deputy for that long and now I'm a leader. I just wish that I could be a good leader.

I soon woke up and saw nine star-covered cats in front of me. Doveflame stood by me side. I saw the first car step up. It was Shadow, my mother. I felt like crying right then. I hadn't seen her in forever. I wished that she wasn't dead either. She touched her nose to my forehead.

"Hello my precious son. You have done well. You will make a great leader, now I will give you your first life. With this life I give you bravery. Use it well to face anything and not back down." She purred to me and stepped back letting the next cat walk up.

"Thank you Shadow, I will use it well." I told her. The next cat to step up was Cinderscar. I had the burning desire to ask who killed her. I could see Doveflame wanting to run to her but she stayed by my side.

"Hello Silverhawk. I guess Flashstar picked you for the deputy." She laughed a little. "With this life I give you clear sight. Use it well to see what to do correctly. You will need it to be a great leader." She purred then stepped back.

"Wait, Cinderscar. Who killed you? Did Lightpaw really kill you?" I asked wanting her to answer. She just shook her head not saying anything. I sighed and the next cat stepped up. At first I didn't recognize the tom then I figured out it was Airflight. I felt like I hadn't seen him in so long.

"My apprentice and a brave apprentice. Together you can rule MapleClan great. Silverhawk, with this life I give you compassion. Use it well to rule the clan and help the other clans when you have to." He said after touching his nose to my forehead.

"Thank you, I will use it to the best I can." I told him as he stepped back. The next cat I didn't really expect. It was Leafhearf. I thought he had gone to the Dark Forest. I guess not. He touched my forehead.

"With this life I give you endurance. Use it when you think you can't keep going." He said softly then stepped back. I wasn't really sure what to say when he said that. Next was another cat I didn't expect. I thought for certain she had gone to the Dark Forest. It was Dimstar, the leader before Flashstar.

"With this life I give you determination. Use it to finish what you start." She smiled a little and touched my forehead with her nose. She stepped back and I gasped at who was next. His stars were darker then the others. It was Shiningdeath for some reason.

"Hello Silverhawk. I am glad I was able to get away from the Dark Forest to give you this life. With this life I give you judgement. Use it as well as you can to make the right choices. I will always help you if you need it. Just because a warrior is in the Dark Forest doesn't mean all he wants is evil. Some just want good." He told me. I stepped up and he touched my forehead with his nose.

"Thank you Shiningdeath, but don't just protect me. Protect my siblings more now along with our clans." I chuckled a little. He chuckled too then stepped back. I guessed that he was always going to help.

The next cat stepped up. I didn't recognize her at all. I was almost scared to know who she was. She touched my forehead with her nose then stepped back.

"I am Maplestar, the first leader of MapleClan. With this life I give you forgiveness. Use it to forgive your clan mates when they do something wrong." She purred then stepped back. The next cat I didn't expect whatsoever. The outline of her fur was pure white and her eyes were icy blue just like Bluesnow.

"B-Bluesnow?" I asked stuttering a little. No, she couldn't be dead. We just saw each other the other day.

"Yes my dearest brother. I'm Bluesnow. I'm not dead though. I have been kicked out of my body by a cat with blood red eyes. They told me I could come to see you. I have also been granted the power to give you your eighth life. With the powers of StarClan I give you this life of friendship. Use it well to unite the clans. You will need it soon. Please save me brother." She purred with tears in her star-like eyes. She touched my forehead gently with her nose and I nuzzled her. I had to save my baby sister. I wasn't going to let any monster hurt her. That must be who has been killing the cats in MapleClan. The cat with the blood red eyes had to be stopped.

The last cat stepped up. I recognized him immediately. It was Flashstar, my leader. Well I guess I was the leader now.

"Silverhawk, you have come so far. I remember when you just got to MapleClan. You were determined to find your siblings and make sure they are okay. Now that you have found them you always try to find a way to protect them even if your in another clan. I'm proud to have you picked as deputy. I know you will unite all the clans with your powers. Now, I give you your last life, this life is the most special. With the powers of StarClan I give you the life of unity. Use this to help all the clans, not just MapleClan." He said standing tall. He walked by me and touched my forehead softly with his nose.

"Thank you Flashstar. I will do my best to help every cat." I told him. He nodded with a smile.

"Now, I hail you by your new name, Silverstar. Your old life is no more. You have now received the nine lives, and StarClan grants you the guardianship of MapleClan. Defend it well; care for the young and the old; honor your ancestors and the traditions of the warrior code; live each life with pride and dignity." He said.

Soon after that all the other cats started to fade away with him. I looked to Doveflame and she dipped her head. I smiled to her playfully.

"My leader, let's go back to MapleClan." She said softly.

"Race you!" I laughed and ran in the direction of MapleClan. I heard laughter behind me and I saw Doveflame running behind me. I may be a leader but I was still going to have fun.
