Akuira entered her tent with the man floating behind her and placed him in the extra bedroom. Casting a warning charm to ensure that she would be notified if he awakened, the female rushed to the laboratory to collect the burn-paste before taking some out and applying it gently on the man's charred flesh. Slowly, the burns vanished before her eyes leaving raw red skin.

It would take at least a day or two before he awakened naturally and she wasn't going to rush him. In the mean time, it was time for her to read up on more healing spells. She didn't want to be reliant on just that few spells she learned from her multiple trips to the infirmary. Potions could wait for a while. She still had lots of pre-made stock. Additionally, she could practice her wandless magic and work on her control at the same time.

Chapter 2

The man gasped as he jerked awake, stiffening in fear as his eyes darted around the territory. The last thing he remembered was- Fire. The nuke-nin had breathed a colossal fire ball at him. Even as it flew at him, he could feel the scorching heat radiating from it. Around him, his companions screamed, collapsing onto the ground one by one, lifeless, as the other nuke-nins had their way with them. Vaguely, he could remember his last-ditch attempt to avoid the blazing fire ball where he had thrown himself to the ground just before he felt the ground move below his feet. Fissures formed from the performance of a doton jutsu by another one of them, the strong force aiding his attempt to escape. Behind him, there was the sound of something being impaled through a persons's flesh and a pitiful beg for mercy. All he could think of was his beautiful granddaughter's face stricken with tears, left all alone in the world without anyone to care for her. I'm sorry. He thought as the sudden brilliance of light and heat washed over him.

The day had started out just like any other run-of-the-mill day when Emiko, the chief's daughter had came running to them informing them of the strange happenings in the forest. Animals were more active than normal and the plants- the plants had all sprouted overnight. Trees grew bigger and stronger and flowers-flowers that shouldn't even be opening in this season were already in full bloom. There were also fruits already ripe and ready to eat! It was nothing less that unnatural and phenomenal if it was true.

In response, the village chief had sent them to investigate the mystery. Not everyone was convinced of this of course. Some had thought that Emiko was simply hallucinating or so, and wanted to prove her wrong. So in the end, a group of ten had hiked up into the forest hills and they had gotten the shock of their lives.

They had stepped into wonderland. Overgrown plants towered over them, their massive leaves seemingly waving at their guests. Once sickly and weak trees seemed to vibrate with life. Flowers of every possible colour smiled at them from everywhere. Birds chirped peacefully from their nests and a squirrel ran past them somewhen up into a tree. A plethora of insects could be seen could be seen bustling along their busy lives.
