Michael sighed as another slow day dragged on at the book shop. He had only taken this job to make some extra money, but damn was it boring. Michael was in the middle of a very intense game on his phone when he heard the bell ring, signaling that a customer had just walked in. Michael looked up quickly from his phone to see who had just walked in.

His heart skipped a beat when he saw it was (Y/N). Now, saying Michael had a small crush on her was an understatement. He was constantly teased by his best friends about how much he liked (y/n). Michael realized that this was his only chance to talk to her, so he took a deep breath and walked over to her.

"I-Is there anything I can help you with," Michael cursed himself mentally for stammering

"Michael," she smiled, "I didn't know you worked here!"

She knew his name. She knew his name. He tried to play it off, like he wasn't about to faint from happiness, "Yeah, it's my third week."

"That's why I haven't seen you here before," she mused. "Anyway, I was just planning on looking around today so I won't be a bother."

"Okay, yeah," Michael smiled sheepishly, "tell me if you need help with anything."

"It was

nice seeing you, Michael," she smiled as she walked away.

Michael passed a mirror on his way back to his post when he saw how pink his cheeks had been. He groaned in embarrassment; leave it him to get that flustered around her. Half an hour later (y/n) made her way back to the front of the shop.

"Did you find anything," Michael asked, trying desperately to contain his blush.

She shook her head, "Nope. I have to head to work in a few minutes, so I guess I'll just have to come back some other day." She smiled at Michael as she made her way to the exit, "See you later, Michael."

It was (y/n)'s fourth time going to that book shop to see that black haired boy. After Michael's friend, Calum, had mentioned that Michael had gotten a job at a book shop she frequented she was elated. She had thought that maybe, just maybe Michael would have asked her out by now.

She knew about his little crush, she was very certain he knew about her crush on him as well. But, of course he didn't.

(Y/n) walked into the shop, and of course there Michael was, at his post. He was mid-conversation with one of his co-workers. He glanced over at her and she saw his pale cheeks grow a lovely shade of pink.

(Y/n) waited for Michael's co-worker to leave before she approached him. She took a deep breath before she asked, "Michael, do you want to go out some time?"

Michael's eyes widened, "Um, what?"

(Y/n) bite her lip anxiously; "Do you want to go out? On a date? With me?"

Michael was quiet for a few minutes, which (y/n) took as him trying to find a nice way to turn her down. "It was stupid," she backed away from the register blushing. "Sorry, you're at work I shouldn't have asked that."

"N-No, wait," Michael stumbled over his own feet as he tried to stop (y/n) from leaving. "I'd love to go on a date. I just never expected you to ask me out. I mean you're... you," he rambled. "Wow, um, yes I'll go on a date with you."

(Y/n) let out a breath she didn't know she was holding, "Great, how does next Saturday sound, around 8?"

Michael grinned, "Sounds great."
